Meyers 200D ADF

Hi Everyone,
Iam a newbie to this wonderful site, been a longtime user of fs9,fsx. I would like any help i can get on the Meyers 200D ADF.I recently got the bug for FSX GA aircraft, first good quality freeware which I have found a lot on this site then maybe a few payware. Mostly single engine Cessna's, then came across some nice piper almost no beech single, then stumbled onto the Meyers 200d by Tim Conrad and fell in love. Downloaded, installed it then realized there was no 2d cockpit (no problem) also that the ADF was not totally visible. The ADF pointer gauge shows up but not the receiver. I have read through some of the threads related to the Meyers 200 on this forum but couldn't find anything with ADF issue.

If there is no ADF installed on this aircraft then fine I'll live with it, but if there is I would like someone to kindly help me make it work.

Thanks to all.

Since your question is 2 days old and nobody has replied, I'll give it a shot.

I'd bet that if you added a 2D radio pop-up window to the panel.cfg and dialed in the ADF freq your panel gauge would track it.

I'd use one of the defaults to make sure you have the gauges you need in your FSX folder.

OK, here goes,
First thanks so much for replying, I was getting a little disappointed, because I had seen other threads about the Meyers200D. Anyway, your suggestion hit me on the head as a brilliant idea. I went back to the cockpit, there is a 2D radio pop up the only one, but no ADF. OK, then I went back into the VC and realized that the ADF pointer gauge I refereed to in my original post was the C182_VOR2 gauge , so my bad there. Based on your suggestion I added the ADF radio panel to the 2D radio pop up window.

The VC had no more space for an ADF pointer gauge so I swapped the VOR2 gauge for a Beech58 RMI gauge, saved my work reloaded and just like you said the the RMI ADF pointer did track the frequency from the ADF radio.Iam so excited, and happy. Iam not an expert on tweaking stuff in FSX but I can get by with help. here are a few screen shots:

1) 2D radio panel popup

2) VC with RMI

Thanks so much Obie.

Jack it's looking good and you're getting the idea. I know it's a little late to mention it but ALWAYS back up your panel.cfg before you modify it. I usually copy it and rename something like orig_panel.cfg. Some people just change the cfg. extension to .bak.

The Beech 58 RMI was a good choice. You get a VOR and an ADF indicator in one dial. Whenever I do a gauge change in a panel, I comment out (//) the default and preceed it with the replacement. That way you have a record of the original default gauge if you have problems.

Your radio stack window looks a little big. If you'd like to tighten up the unused area on it just replace it with the 172 pop-up I referenced above. I downloaded a copy of the Meyers 200 to see its panel.cfg and it really doesn't seem to have its own radio stack pop-up

So here's what your revised panel.cfg should look like if you want a more compact radio stack:

Obie

Obie, hi.

Yes i did back up the original panel cfg, in fact several of them I did use FS panel studio. I forgot to comment out the original VOR2 gauge (//) will correct that. also I did use your radio panel pop up format to tighten up the radio stack. Then VC panel now has the radio panel pop up, its looking really better cause i don't have to go into 2d to change ADF frequency.
screenshot included. Thanks a million my friend.

There are two manifold pressure gauges on the Meyers panel, so another option would be to replace one with an ADF. Note: Many of the gauges in the attached picture are Reality XP FLT and FLN, however default gauges would work just as well.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes you are right with the two MP gauges. I saw them but didn't think I could have replaced one with an ADF gauge that an option also. Thanks for pointed it out.
