Hi Folks,

Aussie has been playing around with this AI program making new instrument panel and infrastructure bitmaps. The program can significantly upgrade existing textures or modify them, e.g. the stock large hangar, the original is on the left.

It works well on a mobile phone using voice commands.

Hang on...how can a conversational, AI-powered assistant that helps boost productivity and streamline workflows by offering contextual assistance, automating routine tasks, and analyzing data....update textures???

Cheers

Shessi

The two new textures I posted were done quickly only to show what the program can do, rather than be substitutes for the original texture.
I haven't gone into it yet, but it does accept certain model formats and handles UV mapping.

Sorry, am I missing something here? You're talking about Microsoft Copilot? As a programme or it's interaction with a graphics programme?..if so, which one?

Mav: From what little I have seen AI's just scrape the web and sort of copy as paste things it think may work and since how little of scasm code is around on the web I'd think it wouldn't even know what scasm code is.

Ok... Allen, thanks for the explaination... so take not many ppl into scasm editing and/or hacking.... oddly enough it was originally done for scenery ... if i'm not wrong. Then Ivan Hsu came along with the mdlc and changed everything it could then be applied to a/c mdls, and the rest is history.

Hi everyone,

Shessi, yes Microsoft copilot. It’s quite good at designing textures or redesigning them if you give it the right instructions. Here’s a few more examples.

It can write python scripts for PSP, Photoshop and UV mapping coordinates for Blender if you ask it.

Hi Aussie,
Thanks for the explanation..and what a great find!

I went away and had a play with it on my pc, with just dragging and dropping one of yours or KD's hangar tex (above) and then just one instruction 'sharpen', it did just that AND made it 1024x1024 from the 512x512 pic....clever stuff (you do realise it's all alien technology they're using..;))

Cheers

Thanks Shessi,

It largely works using keywords and phrases. Words like photorealistic, patina, weathering and planar projection will be particularly useful. It even understands theatres of operation, so if you want Pacific theatre or European just ask it. WWI, WWII it also relates to.

If you want something in a certain colour you can use hex values like #000000 for true black etc. For transparent backgrounds just make sure you include it in the conversation and when exported you have an instant alpha channel.

Couple of things I did notice is that it can’t spell and doesn’t seem to comprehend sequential numbers very well 🤣

Cheers
Aussie
