A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Missions Add-Ons

Description: This is the mission Ensign George H Gay flew at Midway from the USS Hornet. He was the only survivor of VT-8 and the only onr to drop his torpedo in the torpedo attack on Soryu.

My son Micheal made this mission and said it can be tough to not be shot down by AA as you attack Soryu.

The new Devastator by Captain Kurt is used in this mission.

The comments you make there will appear in the posts below.

Thanks for this Hiede, and be sure to thank your son. I've been wanting to try Captain Kurt's awesome new Devastator in a mission, may as well be the most famous Devastator mission of them all!

Thanks Hiede. And thank your son as well. :encouragement:

I have George Gay's autographed book. That, along with a lithograph of Greg Boyington's Corsair which he signed for me, are two of my most cherished belongings.

Midway Ensifn George Gay mission

I couldn't find the mission folder in the download. Could you tell me where it is? Thanks.

I re-uploaded the package and the mission is now there.

The thing is that it's really hard to believe only 1 person said anything about this.I mean it was up all day with over 20 downloads and no one spoke up until recently.

Thank you! This dramatic mission is one of the most famous events of the Battle of Midway. Being able to relive it with this level of precision is awesome. :encouragement:

As it was stated here in a thread a couple of months ago, most SOH users don't have 'Member +' or higher privileges, and therefore cannot post anything on the forum. :wavey:

Thank you very much, Hiede!
A nice opportunity to fly Kurt's new TBD. Let's see how long I survive on this one...

If anyone else is having the same issue as me, there has been such a wealth of excellent new material uploaded to SOH this past week or two, I haven't had a chance to check it all out yet. Sure is a nice problem to have.

Will be trying out your son's new mission today Hiede. But now there's this great new update to the Milne Bay campaign, so off to the races!

Many thanks for both of these.

To those that already downloaded Milne Bay,I just uploaded it again with an update to the Milne Bay text. There were a couple of things left out you need to download.

I met Ensign Gay some years ago at an air show and he signed his book for me and shook my hand. I knew then that I would never forget.
