Midway Scenery Problem

Hi All
I have been using Martins GSL editor to install some Midway 1942 scenery with some success in my 'test cfs2 folder' but a funny turn-up in my 'cfs2 pacific folder'.
Each of the pictures shows Midway with a 'decreasing amount of odd (maybe original) textures as you fly further away from the area. Eventually you fly far enough to only see the new scenery, but as you return the other scenery appears again.

Both sslands have similar problems.
I have noticed at take off, that Midway is not 'flat' and the problem area is 'elevated'.
Any Ideas?

PS I have been unable to open a mission titled Just_Follow_Me' by Enrique Godoy. I keep getting a message that 'mission does not exist' or something similar.

Hi Stuart,

Otis made the nice Midway 1942 scenery before Rhumbaflappy's latest mesh was released, hence the elevated land wipes out some of the islands. Here's my scenery layer containing the Midway scenery with a flatten switch taking everything down to sea level:

[Area.052]
Title=Micronesia-Polynesia
Local=ADDON\Micronesia-Polynesia
Remote=
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE
Layer=52
; Midway
Flatten.0=0,N28 13.60,W177 24.50,N28 13.60,W177 19.00,N28 11.30,W177 19.00,N28 11.30,W177 24.50
Exclude=N28 12.65,W177 21.03,N28 11.75,W177 19.06,objects

Another problem with this scenery is part of the repositioned runways are over water and if you land in these areas you will sink.

A new GSL gob for this scenery would also enhance it.

Cheers,
Kevin

DOMBRAL

On the deletions for the Midway 1942 you wrote " delete the Midway Sand 1942 trees GroundMaker" Did you mean the Midway Sand IS1942 trees groundmaker?

Thanks Guys

To kdriver and dombral
Thanks for your help, Merci pour votre aide.:salute:
kdriver, the flattens seemed to fix the 'changing textures' which was the main problem.
dombral, removing the two bgls, removed the IL2 style 'scrub', which does make it look better in cfs2.
I will try to make new GSL gob for this scenery, when I can work out how to do it.

Cheers
Stuart
PS I haven't landed in the 'water' yet.

Hi Fibber
I deleted Midway Sand Is1942 trees GroundMaker.bgl and Midway 1942 trees GroundMaker.bgl. Otis said that they were IL2 style and could be deleted.
There is no Midway Sand 1942 trees GroundMaker in my Midway1942 folder.

I did the same but I was just trying to see if Dombral had the BGL's as we did. One can never assume anything anymore
