Mike Stone's C-130 hercules

Just downloaded this great plane. Only one question: the panel config file has entries for a virtual cockpit (vcockpit01, vcockpit02) but I don't get them in FS9.

In the panel config, vcockpit01 refers to a texture called $my_first_vc which I can't find.

I can display the vc's in FSPanel.

What am I missing??

Mike's C-130 does NOT have a VC. He never designed them. If you have Mike's Herk, it must have a different panel attached from another plane.

Thanks for the quick answer. I thought I was getting the original Mike files from Suclaro, but apparently they mixed some other stuff in, or I don't have Mike's original.

Solves the problem. I'll stop wondering and looking.

If I remember correctly, the best freeware C-130 virtual cockpit in FS9 was in the Simshed C-130.
I didn't like the exterior model so much though. It may have been because of the textures, but it's been a while, I don't remember :)

YOu could always give this one a shot;

There are some good 2D Herc panels out there like Luca De Battista's which make use of the full screen size beyond the panel. I prefer this look to when the vertical screen is squeezed up. Plus the pilot seems to be sitting approximately in the seat instead of near the centerline like a lot of other panels place you.

Thanks to all of you for a lot of really helpful info. This is what I call tech support!

I did find Simshed's c-130, an it looks a lot like the file I got from Suclaro with a vc panel. I, too, would like to see better textures, and either USAF, Navy, or CG.

I will also look into Ken Mitchell's panels. He did some nifty ones for Cal Classic propliners.

I recommend the simshed one as well. there are a variety of international paints and two USAF ones (search 'simshed' to actually find them on flightsim.com).

Alphasim C-130s are alright...but quite basic.
