As much as I dislike no shine models, this one is so beat up I may have to create one to show just how "bad" this one is.:icon_lol: Heck, even the laptop's screen is busted. And some duck tape may be in order to keep the stuffing in the seats.

Not sure if I ever posted my interpretstion of lighting on the Spartan so here it is -- just in case.

Aircraft.cfg:

Man I HATE getting old!!

Could someone jog my memory and remind me how to deploy/stow the table and laptop?

Thanks

Listen to your Stewardess' briefing.:icon_lol: Keep your tray tables in a stowed and locked position until after take off. Then they will will depoly automatically.

Of course I am not quite sure how one would arrive at all that brown rust color when starting with aluminium skins for fuselage and cowling.
The panel may be made out of regular stamped steel....but as fine an aircraft as the Spartan is ( it was at it's heyday one of the most expensive single engine flivvers out there ) I doubt that even that would "rust" in this way.

All that said.........this is a cool looking ride all the same :applause::applause:

The "rust" may in fact be a clever camo paint job an ill informed drug cartel devised to throw off suspicion.

Re: Same

Duct tape, it has a lightside and a darkside and binds the universe together and
aircraft too.

Yeh....Mmmmm...here's a look at the Boeing Mini-Guppy parked outside at Tillamook.

The aluminum skin can lighten up as it's expozed over time, loose all shine. A white powdery oxidization can appear in sheltered areas, especially where contacting other metal alloys. Panel lines and seams fill with dirt and darken up.

Steel fasteners will rust, leaving streaks of colour.

Paint fades with UV and acid rain exposure on upper or exposed surfaces, paint flakes....(Check red prop tips...)

Particular to the Pacific North West, and most certainly in the tropics....one will see green.....

....The old Guppy is showing the beginnings of moss growing on some shadier surfaces. Certainly the museum staff will turn a hose on her before it becomes grazable...

....Interesting tones for the flightsim texture artists to consider....

And I thought I was slumming when I was flying freight around Florida and the Bahamas in this PA-31.
