Milviz C310R and the Milviz T-38A Update

Hello friends of Milviz,

News from the Creative Director.

Hi all,.

We have now done a long awaited update to the MV C310R and the MV T-38A.

The list of bug fixes is not very long but nonetheless, they were things that were asked for.

C310R:

GPS/GNS fixes

G1000 model fixes for fit with Mindstar G1000

Welded vertices on certain parts of the external models for fit and finish

Sound dll modified for better operation.

T-38A

Night lighting fixes

Landing light operation

Intake mapping error fixed

Sound dll modified for better operation.

Thanks for your attention and, if you've not gotten your email, please contact kat at milviz dot com.

Hi,

Both your site (Milviz) and the Flight 1 site show the download version as v1.012011, which I have, as dated 4/07/2011. Is this correct? Or the sites just haven't been updated yet?

Thanks
Don

Don, the announcement was posted at 7:45 this morning by krazycolin in the MilViz forums, so it's possible the sites haven't got it together yet.

Hi there!
I received an email from Milviz and used the link that was supplied and got the update for my T-38A.
So...check your e-mails. :wavey:

This is all assuming that you purchased these directly from Milviz, I assume.
Those of us who bought either from one of the online shops will have to wait on a product notification.

Dave

I got my T-38a from JustFlight and my C310R from SimMarket (when it was on sale).

Justflight notified me of the updated installer for the T-38a on 4/28 and SimMarket notified me of the updated C310R on 4/24.

The installer for the T-38a is Milviz_T-38A_FSX_v3.14025.exe. The installer for the C310R is Milviz C310R FSX_v3.140420.exe.

Interesting enough these updates were available before the recent announcement by Milviz.

Hopefully these are the right ones and the last ones. :a1310:

Howdy,

The C310R version looks correct, but the T-38 should be MilViz_T-38A_FSX_v3.140428.

Guess I need to wait for JustFlight to notify me of the latest. The file I have and current download is 25 instead of 28.

I find this whole process very confusing and somewhat frustrating as the vendor doesn't publish a clear explanation or list of the different install versions or dates of release. For example, what are the differences between v3.14025 and v3.14028?

The T-38A release should be MilViz_T-38A_FSX_v3.140429. I know that because I'm the one who creates the installers... :encouragement:

The major version number is: 3
The point numbers are the date compiled: YYMMDD

While various outlets might require changes to the actual download filename (I hope not!), you can always right-click on the .exe and check the Properties tab to see the "real version number". That number is also displayed on the top line of the installer's user interface menu.

Soo... You're the guy. LOL :biggrin-new:

Does it make a difference if the point numbers are different?? From what you said, my version was created on 4/25 whereas Dan's version was created on 4/28 and another was created on 4/29. If we keep looking for the latest version, then we're just running around in circles if a newer file is created every day.

BTW - although my version name indicates it was created on 4/25 the actual date was 4/28 according to the Property Details. So my installer should be identical to Dan's?

The "created on date" is essentially meaningless data. The version number is what is important.

Over the course of four days, I compiled successive installers, each of which became necessary as our beta team discovered minor 'bugs' in the installed files.

Colin accidentally sent v3.140425 to SimMarket, who then made it available for download. Colin sent SimMarket the correct installer v3.140428, who apparently have not updated their download link... :dizzy:

If I recall correctly though, the only change between 25 and 28 was a very minor tweak to the aircraft.cfg file:
from
atc_id=DERF
to
atc_id=DIRFT

He appears to have sent it to Just Flight also as this is what I just dled from them. "MilViz_T-38A_FSX_v3.140425.exe"

Dave

So, the last version available at simmarket is: MV_T-38A_FSX_v3.140421.zip
Is it the last one? Thanks :encouragement:

Howdy,

That makes sense, thanks for the update Bill. As of 2130 on 5/3/14, the file on the MilViz website is still 28.

Personally, I believe the major problem with ANY update is that various vendors wait for many days to make them available and most of them never notify us buyers about them. As of yesterday, one major vendor still had not updated to the latest version.
MilViz does a great job in that department: They notify me of updates regardless where I bought the product.

Remember the "good old days" before piracy forced all the controls we face now? :stop: them.

Sorry I haven't answered. Been gone a few days. I updated my C310 from the email links. Everything went well. Thank You.
