Hi Ken,
Great video, what will the standard avionics be? I hope we get a 430/530 and bendix king avionics and not the defaults.
There are three versions of panels. The default is a 3D dynamic virtual cockpit that features a Garmin GNS-530 as comm/nav 1. Comm/nav 2 is a Garmin GNS-430. You also have a Garmin GTX-330 Mode-S transponder. In addition, you have a slew of Bendix-King avionics, including an audio panel, autopilot, and ADF.
In addition to the avionics, you also have plenty of nice instruments, including a JPI EDM-700 graphic engine monitor for each engine. They are mounted side-by-side on the lower left side of the pilot's panel. You have a nice Artificial Horizon and HSI plus a dual mode, dual needle RMI card. The HSI and the RMI card feature a toggle switch allowing you to slew the inputs from nav 1 or nav 2 avionics! The second needle on the RMI is hard-wired to the ADF.
In addition, the aircraft panel features highly faithful Cessna-designed instruments for engines and fuel systems, including a duplication of the fuel cogs! I think you will find the functionality highly realistic.
Honest to God, I wish the panel on my actual C-310R was this well equipped!
All this is designed for realism, which means it is complicated and therefore to help you understand how it all works, a 115-page Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH) has been written. It includes the word-for-word checklists from the actual Cessna POH. In addition, it has the authentic performance charts and graphs plus weight and balance forms.
The final section in the POH specifically discussions how to use the MilViz systems as designed on this aircraft. If I say so myself, I believe it is the most detailed and complete manual ever released in an FSX aircraft. But, you also have separate systems manuals for the Garmin avionics, and the engine monitors. This matches the situation for an actual aircraft of this age that installs new avionics using the Supplemental Type Certificates (STC's). You would add the stand-alone manuals to your POH in the cockpit. All-in-all, you have well over 200 pages of systems pages and checklists to go over. As the adage in the USAF goes, you can truly "get in the books!" LOL!!!
As if this isn't enough, you have two other panel versions. The second version uses the majority of the default 3D gauges and instruments, but also features two panes of "free form" radio stacks. This allows you, the customer, to tweak the radio stack in any way you wish using any avionics that you desire and own. For example, if you want to insert the Reality-X Garmin avionics, you can do so! But, the free-form radio stack panel also comes pre-loaded with Bendix-King avionics. So, it isn't bare -- just available to the customer for customization.
The third panel is the the default FSX G1000 panel. So, you can use the default Garmin G1000 manual that comes with FSX to learn how to use all this stuff. Certain dedicated C-310R instruments and gauges are retained to support accurate functionality.
I hope this helps explain the options available. I frankly think you will really enjoy what is here.
Cheers,
Ken
