I am not able to imbed YouTube videos, so please instead use this link to take you to the video for the MilViz Cessna 310R:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lOOF-0-Msw

It is getting very close folks, and this video is a mere morsel of the stuff you will find. Believe me, it could have gone a lot longer to show everything in store!

Release should happen in early August 2010!

Cheers,

Ken

Hi Ken,

Great video, what will the standard avionics be? I hope we get a 430/530 and bendix king avionics and not the defaults.

Do I see at least three different panels? :icon_lol: There was a G1000, the default 500 and something else, a GNS430? The G1000 must be a first in that type.

I'm ready when you are. :jump:

Is this the correct site?

http://www.milviz.com/

I can't see where they advertise the C310? Moreover, I can't see where FSX is even mentioned or how one would purchase any of their products? I must be missing something here.

Yes, that is their site.

This will be Milviz's 1st release for FSX when it is finnished. Up untill now MilViz created models and sold them to other dev's to do all the "other stuff" to get them into FSX (they make models for other purposes too).

I'm sure they will answer better in time.

Thank you. I did receive some useful information:

Hi Ken,

Great video, what will the standard avionics be? I hope we get a 430/530 and bendix king avionics and not the defaults.

There are three versions of panels. The default is a 3D dynamic virtual cockpit that features a Garmin GNS-530 as comm/nav 1. Comm/nav 2 is a Garmin GNS-430. You also have a Garmin GTX-330 Mode-S transponder. In addition, you have a slew of Bendix-King avionics, including an audio panel, autopilot, and ADF.

In addition to the avionics, you also have plenty of nice instruments, including a JPI EDM-700 graphic engine monitor for each engine. They are mounted side-by-side on the lower left side of the pilot's panel. You have a nice Artificial Horizon and HSI plus a dual mode, dual needle RMI card. The HSI and the RMI card feature a toggle switch allowing you to slew the inputs from nav 1 or nav 2 avionics! The second needle on the RMI is hard-wired to the ADF.

In addition, the aircraft panel features highly faithful Cessna-designed instruments for engines and fuel systems, including a duplication of the fuel cogs! I think you will find the functionality highly realistic.

Honest to God, I wish the panel on my actual C-310R was this well equipped! :icon_lol:

All this is designed for realism, which means it is complicated and therefore to help you understand how it all works, a 115-page Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH) has been written. It includes the word-for-word checklists from the actual Cessna POH. In addition, it has the authentic performance charts and graphs plus weight and balance forms.

The final section in the POH specifically discussions how to use the MilViz systems as designed on this aircraft. If I say so myself, I believe it is the most detailed and complete manual ever released in an FSX aircraft. But, you also have separate systems manuals for the Garmin avionics, and the engine monitors. This matches the situation for an actual aircraft of this age that installs new avionics using the Supplemental Type Certificates (STC's). You would add the stand-alone manuals to your POH in the cockpit. All-in-all, you have well over 200 pages of systems pages and checklists to go over. As the adage in the USAF goes, you can truly "get in the books!" LOL!!!

As if this isn't enough, you have two other panel versions. The second version uses the majority of the default 3D gauges and instruments, but also features two panes of "free form" radio stacks. This allows you, the customer, to tweak the radio stack in any way you wish using any avionics that you desire and own. For example, if you want to insert the Reality-X Garmin avionics, you can do so! But, the free-form radio stack panel also comes pre-loaded with Bendix-King avionics. So, it isn't bare -- just available to the customer for customization.

The third panel is the the default FSX G1000 panel. So, you can use the default Garmin G1000 manual that comes with FSX to learn how to use all this stuff. Certain dedicated C-310R instruments and gauges are retained to support accurate functionality.

I hope this helps explain the options available. I frankly think you will really enjoy what is here.

Cheers,

Ken

Cool video, the analogue gauges interest me more - it looks to be the default G1000?

Ryan, I've developed three distinct panels and models for the C310R:

1. "default" model and 3d analog gauges with custom 3d GNS530/430, KAP140, etc.

2. "Free Radio" model and panel set with the "default" 3d analog gauges, but two "flat" avionics racks that will allow the user to place any 3rd party avionics they own or purchase. FSX default Bendix-King avionics are pre-configured for convenience.

3. "G1000" model and panel set with 3d standby analog gauges on the copilot's side. The panel is delivered with the default G1000 gauge set, but there are no 3d knobs, buttons, etc. to get in the way. This will allow the end user to place the Mindstar G1000, Flight1's G1000, or any other G1000 gauges they have or purchase. There is also a 3 bay rack on which any other avionics may be installed (such as an ADF receiver, a backup GNS530 or GNS430, and a single bay rack under the MFD where an autopilot may be installed (or any other device for that matter!).

Ha! I see Ken replied while I was writing this brief description. I considered briefly "deleting" this reply, but I've included a few things Ken left out of his otherwise much better description! :)

And for all those who want more and better screenshots, Nick C will be doing a set showcasing the plane and it's details.

The actual Milviz website shows off the high quality/detail models that are built for CG renderings for things such as movies, and presentations. As of yet we do not have a section for FSX only aircraft, but that is something we are in the works on. If you go to the forums that is strictly about our FSX offerings and aircraft. We have even created a section soley for the 310, and a seperate subforum that will be for the 310 customers to report issues, etc.

As one of the more passive testers, I've merely flown and tried to find fault while the nucleus of 'gurus', of whom Ken is one, dealt with each little issue as it occurred. Reading the email traffic between these guys was fascinating as they diagnosed and refined. The end result will be one of the best looking and flying models for FSX - one that will reward superior pilot skills with superior performance.View attachment 14347

We were hoping to release the MilViz C-310R this weekend. However, putting accuracy ahead of timeline, Colin has wisely decided to delay the release by about a week. Nothing ready for official publication at this time.

However, I can say that the areas we are working on now are relatively minor but ultimately it comes down to a desire to make this a high quality release. So, we are listening to all the beta team feedback and ironing out a couple of wrinkles.

I think a week's worth of delay will be very beneficial in the long run.

Cheers,

Ken
