Milviz F-15E - Loadout Configurations

Hello Everyone,

I'm sure you've all (maybe not all :icon_lol:) have seen the recent screen shots showcasing the F-15E, and if you've paid attention you'd note that the loadouts vary from shot to shot.

Let us imagine a typical FSX situation. You feel like doing some Air to Air flying. Typically you'd choose the provided Air to Air loadout in your FSX Aircraft Selection menu. Once you are ready for takeoff, you realize you'd much rather fly with a precision strike loadout. Now you have to load a new variant of the aircraft.

Another scenario: have you ever wished you could customize your own loadouts? I know I have, especially with the Aerosoft F-16C (one of my favorites). This is possible with the VRS F/A-18E, but must be done in the ACM (another one of my favorites).

Well with the Milviz F-15E you can do just that: customizable loadouts on the fly! I thought I would take the time and show you guys some of the possible loadout configurations possible with the Milviz F-15E (currently in testing).

Here we have the clean configuration:

1-2.jpg

Here we have a modest Air to Air configuration:

2-1.jpg

Here we have a slightly more beefed up Air to Air configuration:

7.jpg

Here we have a Mk-82 configuration:

3-1.jpg

Here we have a CBU-97 configuration:

6-1.jpg

Here we have a GBU-38 configuration:

9.jpg

Here we have a GBU-12 configuration:

4-1.jpg

And for those of you that do not wish to blow anything up, here we have the standard Ferry configuration:

5-1.jpg

And the best part...they can all be used...and when I say used I mean like the real thing. To give you an example, you can destroy every AI bugger flying in your airspace, and precision bomb targets of your choice.

The previous shots only show a small fraction of the possible configurations with the Milviz F-15E. If you haven't gotten the picture yet...you can customize your loadout on the fly within FSX. When I say this is done within FSX, I mean in the sim itself. You do not have to edit aircraft weight/fuel loads to get the munitions. Simply Shift+4, and away you go with the built in menu.

Last but not least: Safety First! Weapons must be loaded prior to engine start-up!

Regards, Diego

This sounds so very good....
Will we be able to place a bogey or refeulling tanker in front of us (or behind us) during flight or do we have to make flight plans beforehand?

Since the MicroProse sim series the Strike Eagle has been one of my favourites!

Those AIM-120s looks almost white. The body is Grey 36375 and the nose is an off white. Fins are a brownish matt metallic.

I'd love to see a pic of that. I've been up close and personal with both the AMRAAM and the Sparrow and they were painted overall white.

Basically you will have a new "Milviz" section in the add-on menu in the menu bar.. In this menu you will be able to call the tanker (and also choose whether you want to use the Easy or Pro tanker modes).. It will generate the tanker at 25000ft and 250kts flying at your current heading a little ways ahead of you. You will then be able to refuel, and get back on your way again... The different between the Easy and Pro modes is on the Pro mode the refueling box is a lot smaller, and the tolerances are tighter (basically in Easy mode you just need to fly in the vicinity of the tanker to fuel, and Pro mode you literally need to hook it into the aircraft almost). So to answer your question the tanker is at your beck and call anytime, and anywhere in the world! Depending on how long you remain hooked up depends on how much fuel you take on, so it is not an instantaneous full load.

Thanks, Steve, this sounds wonderful!

Just wondering: the F-16's flight control system halves the control gains when in tanker mode, so that the plane feels more stable. Does the F-15 have this system too, and if so, will it be incorporated in your virtual plane?

Really haven't seen that, but I have not been a regular tester of the F-15E (been working on other projects). The F-15 flies really easy, and I would think that you do not need a reduction in the flight control gain to tank. I just do not have a steady hand (I have a X-65 Saitek touch sensitive system), I think the aircraft has excellent control properties though even at high rates of speed (unlike the uneasiness of the T-38 or F-16 due to the short and thin wings). Jon or one of them would be better equipped to definately give you the yes or no answer, but I think anyone that has enough flying time will be able to tank fairly easily with this bird without any type of gain reduction.

I have seen reports of when the fighters (or any other...) hook up, both aircraft become or seem more stable. This may not be 100% of the time due to of course the weather and atmospheric conditions.

I fear Khaast may be right, though there seem to be many dummy displays that are painted all white, probably just easier for upkeep. Even in an all white, love the attention to stencilling, weathering and all the details.

Your team continues to raise the standards bar in your releases and I for one am glad you have broken away from building models for other publishers, good and bad, and have begun releasing your own titles.

we will repaint them today. I hate dummy missiles... blue bands, red bands, yellow bands... grey bodies... white bodies.. blue bodies...

LOL, we have the same issue with demo's of ground munitions, many are painted various shades of green, some have the blue bands, some yellow, etc. Anyway, there is a MILStandard which is mostly adhered too, whereby all training munitions are painted blue. Then there's always some senior person somewhere in the foodchain, that wants their display to look more realistic and show only minimal or no blue.
