Hi guys,

The totally revamped Milviz Huey UH-1C and UH-1H will be released in a matter of days. I'll let you know here when it's available.

Here's a new video of the startup, auto-rotation, VRS recovery, and weapons employment:

Note that we've greatly extended the realism, from sound to systems to flight dynamics - we even have accurate simulations of auto-rotate and VRS out of the box - no 3rd party add-ons required. Both are shown in the video.

Enjoy!

Very good indeed !! Thanks for the video.
One little remark: during the auto-rotation phase, while approaching the landing field, I can hear some "bip-bip" in the engine sound every two seconds or so. What is that ?

I'm not sure. All the sounds were recorded from a running Huey, it must be something that was going on while it was being recorded.

I'll ask our sound guy.

That beeper is an alarm, I think, that goes off when you roll the throttle down or when the engine looses power otherwise. I think it is connected to the torque meter.

Just an uneducated guess!

Cheers,
Mark

Low RPM alarm. Low rpm in a helicopter would be a critical event. The autorotation itself if done properly, would bring the rpm's back to an adequate level to provide the lift needed during the flare at the end of the autorotation. In practice, a full down autorotation practice would have the throttle off all the way through touchdown, hence the alarm at the start, silenced once rpm's stabilize, then again once once on the ground as the remaining energy bleeds off. One heck of a ride, but fun once you get over the fact that when done correctly, it's actually very controlled and you're not going to plant it 6 foot under. Try a zero speed auto sometime if you get the chance.

Going to have to get this one, looks worth it for these updates.

Few fresh screenies of incoming refreshed MV UH-1 Huey/Iroquois.

Here it's UH-1C (short attack) version. TacPack functionality included.
