Minor, but irritating problem with Firefox

Since yesterday I have to log on to Yahoo and all my FS forums AFTER closing the browser. I ran Crap Cleaner this morning and that seemed to solve the problem, but FF is acting up again.

Any advice? I'd really hate to go back to IE7.

Thanks in adcance,

Bob

I had a similar problem with a bazar cookie in Firefox that wouldn't let me log into my Yahoo account without clearing all my personal data. Obviously when I did that I had to log into everything again. Anyhoo, the way I fixed it was to delete my Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\hsm2068g.default.cookies.squlite file which is found in the Documents and Settings/user name file. I replace this with a blank text file (from notepad) saved as (you guessed it) cookies.squite. Now everything works fine, I hope this helps.

I am not an expert with firefox but look at this.

Go to your Tools menu and choose Options

The 5th option at the top of the Options window is Privacy click on it.

The bottom box is Private Data

If checked uncheck the box that says "Always clear my private data when I close Fifefox"

Sorry Dave, I misread that, if checked it will make you log in each time. Howsomeever, when I tried checking/unchecking it, it did not help.

Thanks, Dave and Beard. For some reason, the box was checked, though I don't remember doing that. But all's well again and I thank you both for the help.:ernae:

No problem it was worded rather strange as I am not the worlds best writer.

Your Welcome

I only just installed Firefox last week on my server because I had some strange issues with IE7 on that box. Probably related to the fact it is running so many apps.

I noticed an update installed which may have happened a couple of days ago. That may have changed your settings for some reason. If you auto updated that is.

Dave

Thanks, Dave, for the 'background' info. The update was when I noticed the problem.

I switched to FF last year because MLB.com on line baseball wasn't working with an accelerator I had for IE7. Rather than using FF just to watch my Cubs games, I started messing with FF and found I really liked it.
