Mirage F1 C

Thanks D5turbi
Considering this plane has its origins all the way back in FS9 it looks great in MSFS.

I just took it for a quick spin around the Mach Loop and I like it, I need to read the manual though as I had a warning that sounded like a rape alarm screaming at me for most of the flight .

That's right, I was also affected by this alarm once.
I don't remember what caused it or what code triggers it.
I'll look into it

Just reminder of how far ahead of the game Kirk Olsson was - his F-16's were superb. Wonder if he is still involved in the sim world in any way?

OK, I found it:
This alarm is the overspeed alarm.
Two solutions to stop hearing it:
1/ lower the speed of the F1
2/ disable the following lines in the file Mirage-F1/sound/sound.cfg
[OVERSPEED_WARNING_SOUND]
filename=jetovsp
maximum_volume=10000

I don't know if Kirk is still involved in the sim world, but I received, via Frank, permission to use his F1 on the condition that the version is not commercial.
Don't ask me to adapt his F-16, it's a very (too) long job.
:)

no I think we have enough Vipers coming so you're good there !!

I figured it was something to do with speed but it goes off at anything over 300knot so I must have something on or off that's triggering it over that speed.

Sorry, I couldn't find a way to fix the overspeed warning.
Other testers don't have this problem, so I wonder if it's caused by a MSFS setting.
If you are affected, you can disable this sound in the file
mirage-f1\SimObjects\Airplanes\Mirage-F1\sound\Sound.cfg
like this:
//[OVERSPEED_WARNING_SOUND]
//filename=jetovsp
//maximum_volume=10000
or by replacing the file with the attached one and renaming it Sound.cfg.
(the .cfg extension is not accepted by the forum for uploading, so I had to replace it with .txt)
