Mirage F1 VC problem....

Ok gents, got some problems here.

Concerning the Mirage F1 by Kirk Olsson, the VC in particular. Where as the VC works for the AZ/C versions, the CR/CT do not have any instruments in the VC, even though they share the same panel file used by the AZ version. Weird.

I reinstalled V2.5, but still the same issue with only the CT/CR models. (model.recon/gbu and rockets).

For me here is the standard VC of Kirk Ollson's Mirage F1... do you see these instruments ?

Hi Solobo,

Using the CR/CT models, the answer is no. Those instruments are not visible.
Using the AZ modes, the answer is yes.

That puzzles me, as they are aliased to the same gmaxF1 panel folder and the planes are all bundled into the GmaxF1 file......

On the 2D panel I noticed the RADAR gauge is not fully dispayed as if it doesn't fit the BMP file. Where as for the AZ model the gauge fills the CRT screen as it should be.

Could this have something to do with the various versions of the Mirage F1 made available by Kirk Olsson??

Been a while since I looked at this model, I'll reinstall over the weekend & have a proper look. But ......

You haven't forgotten that the VC is actually part of the model, so using the same 2D panel doesn't necessarily mean they have exactly the same virtual cockpit? From what I remember some of these had only a partial VC, which will make a difference. And as well as reinstalling the v2.5, did you also reinstall the patch?

Thanks Andy, and yes I'd installed the patch.

Even if the VC is partially instrumented, referring to as "full VC" or "medium VC", with the CT/CR models I have no instruments at all!! No HUD, no velocity indicator just the plain cockpit texture the VC uses.
Even the "medium VC" has the essential working instruments. That's what's puzzling.
As far as I can remember, when the package got released years ago I had no such problems.

Cheers,
Hank

Did you try to copy the panel directly for these models, without alias?

Re: Same

Use the panel that shows everything, and name it the same as the panel that doesn't
see if that works. or put the gauges in both panels.

Yep, one of the first things I did, not that it helped though....:icon_lol:

And that's the main reason I started this thread. The CT/CR models use the working panel ( as visible with the AZ model) but for some mysterious reason only the 2D panel is shown while the VC is completely instrument-less.

I even installed the Super Mirage F1 (Mirage F1AZ fitted with the Russian SMR-95 engine. This package has its own panel folder with no aliases. Within that directory I placed the model.rockets (CT model), made the right modifications within the config file to make it visible within FS. Still.....no working VC.

About putting the F1 gauges directly in the panel folder, I'll give that a try. Maybe FS9 will finally give me some instruments within the VC.

Cheers,
Hank

Solved....

As a final step......I removed all items related to the Mirage F1!!

Reinstalled v2.5.......and I finally got the VC back working with the CT/CR models!!!
The VC even keeps working after installing various other F1 packages (like the Super Mirage and the F1C-200). Even got the Dooley's F1CZ 206 with working VC.......:icon_lol:

Thanks gents!
Hank
