Misbehavin' Cornell

I recently downloaded Eduardo Fadul’s PT-19 and installed it along with OBIO’s Ranger sound pack and Caz Dalton’s N52159 textures. No problems until I fired up FS9 and went to go flying. I picked an airport at random and when the FS opened, there was the PT-19, jittering around on the ramp like somebody behind 2 or 3 pots of coffee. I figured it might be just a fluke, but it happened at 3 other airports too. The plane flies great but “behaves poorly” on the ground. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this or what I might do to fix it?

Sounds like it might be an issue with the contact points. If you can provide a link to the file you downloaded, maybe one of the guru's around here can take a peek...

andersel,
My PT-19 is stock except for the addition of Caz's new texture and I have no problems with it. My original d/l was pt19efa.zip from Flightsim.com, is that where you got yours?

Let me double check the Cornell files I have....I spent a fair bit of time tweaking the flight dynamics of the Cornell and having them tested by a fella who has time in the PT-19....and he said that it was pretty darn close to the real Cornell...close enough to make him happy with it. I worked on the ground handling as well.

OBIO

Attached a zip containing my tweaked FDE files....these were originally done by Daniel Nole....I took them further. You will have to add the paint info from the stock aircraft.cfg file to the enclosed aircraft.cfg.

Well here are mine. Try them if you want. Obio-couldn't get it to steer on the ground as a tail dragger. Was this one steerable by tail wheel?

Yep - that's steerable. Replace that 44 with 180 to make the wheel castor.

Yup, pt19efa.zip from Flightsim.com was the original download. I'm going to try out the FDE kindly provided by OBIO and I'll try it with the other contact point changes too. Stay tuned for developments. LA

The FDE that I posted is not my tweaked ones...lost those in a HD crash it would seem...man, I spent hours and hours getting the Cornell to act right on the ground and in the air. I hate HD crashes!

Did those points work for you TARPS? I tried the 180 but there was no rudder steer response while on the ground. If I reduce the yaw MOI and stability that is often the culprit but then the air dynamics are way too unrealistic. I'll fiddle with it a bit and see if I can make it work.

Ouch Obio that hurts. I re-did the whole cfg below at one time so have a look and can take from there. Might be pretty close to what you had.
