Hi Folks,
Just being bimbling around the UK looking at all the great new scenery and have come across some missing bits and pieces. Worked out that some/all are from Rami's Hawker Factory and possibly the others are from his ports and???

Shessi,

Here's what you're missing...

You’ll need the British Bedford truck (Bedfordql.zip)

You’ll need Usio’s lighthouse package

You’ll need Wolfi’s trains (CFS2_Train_Set_01_a.zip)
Location: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/downloads/download.php?lloc=downloads&FileID=10104

You’ll need Aeroplane Heaven’s Battle of Britain Hurricane pack. (Spits_and_Hurris_&_109.zip)

Thanks for downloading, I hope you enjoy them!

Rami you star!!

Thanks for prompt reply and links.

I'm really enjoying the new scenery, for me CFS2 hasn't looked so good and really it's the overall 'feel' of the sim which has improved so much. One of the best things is that I'm now not getting those bl**dy annoying! green or blue squares appearing in the distance, when at 12000ft or more.
Dare I say it, not that far off a basic install of Fs9??? (if any body from the Fs9 world see's this, I'm for it...he he!).

Superb!, Rami/Achim/LW/Gary20/Richard L etc etc many many thanks..:applause:

....and now for something completely different..

I generally spend most of my sim-time in Europe, so have been for many years merrily taking and landing at standard bases, and add-ons around the ol' UK.

When installing all of Rami's Euro make-over, it includes the above mentioned Hawker ac factory. This was sited at the old Brooklands aerodrome and race track, along with a Vickers works aswell.

Now on going to Rami's Hawker factory I found it way down south in the county of Kent, near the coast...hmmm strange I thought???, I don't remember a Hawker factory near there.

I did a bit of searching and yes there is a very small village/hamlet in Kent called Brookland (notice no 's' at the end), but not a Brooklands. There was/is an airfield near here called Lympne (pronounced Limp-nee). The CFS2 airfield map co-ordianates are about right for there.

M$ cocked it up back in '98! They must have heard of Brooklands the famous UK aerodrome, also that there was an important B of B airfield near the coast in Kent (Lympne), looked on a map, saw Brookland and put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5!!!!

Brooklands aerodrome is just SW of Weybridge in the county of Surrey, some 20 miles SW of London (see the attached map, red is where M$ position it green is the correct location).

Now Rami, I love the factory, and not wishing to make more work for you or being ungrateful, but could it be put in the right location? Metric N 51.35339; W 0.46614 or in CFS2 world N 051 degs, 22 mins, 07.6703 secs; W 000 degs, 24 mins, 56.5517 secs.

And for those of you who fly from/over or care(!), re-name the default CFS2 Brooklands to Lympne.

Of some interest I hope....:wiggle:

Thanks again Rami!

Hi Shessi,

Actually the Hawker factory was located in the heart of Kingston-upon-Thames, about 8 miles from Brooklands. The factory space was limited, so test flying was carried out at Brooklands, while the major production of aircraft was carried out at the Gloster factory at Brockworth just to the east of Gloucester. This factory had its own airfield and was targeted a number of times by the Luftwaffe.

This also is not a criticism of all the great hard work done by Rami, Achim and others on the ETO for CFS 2. A number of the aerodromes are not historically in the exact place but they are neverless pretty good. Microsoft misplaced Manston by over a 100 miles!
