  • Server side Maintenance is done. We still have an update to the forum software to run but that one will have to wait for a better time.

Missing weapons in USS ESSEX CV-9 revised

I had already loaded those. I think it may be in the FDG F6F-5 Hellcat install. The other Hellcats in the free flight have the drop tank. I could not find any weapons file to load into the F6F-5. I will keep looking around. I guess I missed something somewhere.
 
The item wep_US_hellcat_drop_gp is the stock Hellcat drop tank that's bundled with all the other stock weapons in the default weapons.bgl. Its already in your sim -- nothing to download, just add it to your FDG Hellcat dp just like you'll find in the stock Hellcat dp.

It is in the .dp file. Strangely in free flight it will show up with a drop tank with "bomb medium and bombs long range but not in "guns only long range or rockets long range" This is the F6F-5(N) VMF 514
The F6F-5 VF-12 is OK
??
I don't know enough to understand what is happening. It may not be important to any of the missions except it says its missing in free flight.

This one isn't on you. The F6F-5N Hellcat has a badly flawed .dp file that needed to be straightened out. There are fifteen payload options but only seven load, the drop tank on the "guns only" should read...

"wep_us_hellcat_drop_gp"

Not

"us_hellcat_drop_gp"

...in addition, according to the payload names, it's listed is "Guns Only, Guns Only Long Range, Bombs Light, Bombs Medium, Bombs Heavy, Bombs Long Range, Rockets, and Rockets Long Range.

But according to the payload section, it's...Guns Only, Guns Only Long Range, Bombs Light, Bombs Light Long Range, Bombs Medium, Bombs Medium Long Range, and Rockets."

Crikey, no wonder your head was spinning! :dizzy:

Here is the .dp file in its correct form, and I included the original in the .zip file for a side-by-side comparison.

I just checked this one out this morning; this weapon is in the Kawanishi H8K2 "Emily" download. :encouragement:

The effects, gauges, objects_dp, and scenedb folders are in the aircraft folder itself.
 
I know I don't know much about this dang "Voodoo" internal sim stuff, but knew something was amiss. Thanks Rami.:applause:

I am old and slow but still trying to learn. :encouragement:
