Sorry guys but my hearts not into it.I've tried to get going but it's not happening.Today's the first time in about 3 weeks I even started up CFS2.
Looks like someone else is going have to keep the Pacific alive in CFS2.

:ernae:Like the McDonald's ad goes ..... "you deserve a break today ..."

For ALL that you've given us over the years ... my personal thanks.

You've made this a better place for your having been here ... and I can only hope you miss us enough someday to pop back into our little world...:kilroy: when you're ready.

Hey Talon,

Don't feel bad about it, this is a hobby not a job. When we start to feel pressure to perform and to meet a delivery schedule then hang it up.

You have given more than your fair share to the game, sit back and enjoy for a while.

Besides it is summer (at least here in the northern hemisphere), what sort of a loser wastes their summer inside in front of a keyboard when there are beers to be drunk and decks to be sat on?

I know how you feel, it happenned to me with another game right just before hanging on to CFS2. You spend longer designing missions (or painting, or modeling, whatever helps to develop a game) than enjoying the game itself. It just happens, don't feel bad about it.

Thanks for all your efforts to keep CFS2 alive through the years. Your work will keep players busy for a long time :applause::applause:.

Fear not, I'm currently working on a series of missions for a mini-campaign encompasing the carrier attacks against Kurita's Center Force on Oct 24 1944 in the Sibuyan Sea. I have 8 of about 14 missions completed and ready for flight testing. I've never done a campaign before, but will use Cody Coyote's Mission Builder handbook as a guide in setting the missions up as a campaign. I'm using a lot of VN and a few Usio ships as well as some stock in an effort to keep the amounts of downloads lower and to help with frame rates.

I'll ask for volunteers once I have the package done. Meanwhile, marieried and I are testing the ones I've already finished. The Pacific Theatre is alive and well! See: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=21208 for updates and progress reports.

I have started a US World War One campaign and i know how you feel. You spend so much time doing the missions that you really don't enjoy them until you have let them set a month or so......

I appreciate all the hard work you have given to the community.

You hit it on the head. Those who are recording musicians will understand this better than most.

First, you have to practice the songs until they nearly play themselves ... and then, when you record them, you have to somehow develope enough "feeling" to make it sound like you really still care about playing the damned things.

Then, if you're nutty enough to act as your own production engineer ... you have to spend EVEN MORE TIME listening to playback after playback, adjusting this, boosting that, cutting something else to get that "perfect" sound you just know is in there somewhere.

By the time you've finished the project ... it may be months before you can even stand hearing the stuff you just spent countless hours working on.

It's a hell of a way to make a living ... and when you do it for a "hobby" ... well, you just might need to have you head examined!

Believe me ... I GET IT! So a BIG THANKS to all you folks who build, and paint, and create ... all so those of us who don't can have all the fun!:ernae::ernae::ernae:

Shadow it's not that hard to make it into a Campaign.I just made my AVG & CATF into one long campaign ( 71 missions ).

Bill I was also a professional musician for 35 years.I did my last recordings in 2002 and now just play for fun.

I still go to senior citizen homes and nursing homes and do shows for them during the year and have been doing it for about 25 years. These shows have always been the most fun for us.

A couple of years ago Hiede put up some links to our music.

And I'll bet that those seniors are some of the most appreciative audiences you'll ever find. Funny how things can be more fun when it's not "work" ... guess that goes for just about evenything!

You take care, hear?:kilroy:
