Indeed I am!! Would it be possible to tweak Dinah's airfile to enable the AI's to actually be capable of outrunning interception?

OW,
I'm certainly no airfile expert, and the airfile does need some tweaking, we'll see what happens. If it's not up to scratch then maybe someone like Pepe could possible take a look, if he wishes to.

And it was a quick beastie, this later version was close to 400mph and 32,000ft ceiling...:icon37: phew!

Cheers

Great job Shessi... here's a rework of the panel...

:wavey:

A little plastic surgery for a closer look consonant with a photo of the actual panel...

Available as usual, comment...suggestions welcome... ("clean" or with throttles and yoke)

Gaucho:

A silly question, but I have to ask: why is there a gunsight on this panel since the Ki-46 is supposed to be unarmed ?

Great job though. :encouragement:

Nice work Mark!:encouragement:

Roxane-21, the earlier types were unarmed recon ships, but the Mark III-KAI was a defense interceptor/night fighter version equipped with two 20 mm cannon in the nose (in addition to the single 37 mm cannon in the upwards-aimed dorsal position). The Mark IIIb was a ground attack version with nose armament. For both roles a forward gunsight would certainly be needed.

The good news is that removing this type of sight from a panel bmp is easy work.

Gaucho, hook me up with a "clean" version (no yoke & ECU), with ECU and yoke in separate bmps for auxiliary add-on windows.

Thanks

No problem...

Cheers gents.....

Making it multi-LOD means it's very FR friendly and of course no glightstates or crashchecks, so no CTD in missions etc.

Re-panel, there are not many pics of Dinah cockpits, but there was something placed on top of the instrument coaming, unlikely a gun sight, but something? I didn't remove it from the Alpha panel, as I find that playing with panel bmps seems to degrade the quality of them, but if Gaucho removes the sight from his and someone wants to populate it then great.

Yes the photo I have has a compass on top of the panel sunshade... and under it... an instrument I yet cannot tell what it is... I will make another panel with those instruments for the unarmed version... should be a breeze...
Be right back... so to speak... lol

Very good addition, Shessi!

We badly need a good Ki46-I and a Ki46-II. The only available Ki46-I is an old one by VB, 20% bigger in scale than the real one and very inaccurate (it even has guns!). The Ki46-III Kai was a different aircraft, with a lengthened fuselage and a new stepped cockpit.

Here is the ALPHA Ki46-III Kai:

Hago did a very good Ki46-III Kai:

His Ki46-III is not at the same standard

B24 Guy Dinahs are good Ki46-III planes. His Ki46-II is only a repainted Ki46-III. We really need good Ki46-I and Ki46-II. Allen or Baldy could give us a hand!

Cheers
