Modifying night missions

I cant see hardly anything in night missions with my monitor brightness fully up. How do I change the mission to day time in ETO. I remember doing it a few years back but I've forgotten.

Also is there anyway of switching theater era in ETO without coming out of the game

One trick is to turn off the room lighting and shut the curtains, it really helps ....but the family and neighbours might think you're mad!
 
Ok that's refreshed my memory, thanks. I only use my PC during the day but have the curtains drawn. Are carrots any good for memory ?
 
I have successfully changed some of the missions in ETO to daytime, I opened the xml file in notepad and changed the time. But with one or two when I click the briefing, wont run and a box comes up Runtime error R6026 pure virtual function call. I modified missions in the main missions folder as well as those in missions 1936, 1943 and 1945 folders.
 
The missions that wont run above are the Ulster Missions in the BOB theatre. When I click the briefing the game freezes. I have checked the time that I have changed and I think I have done it right. Any ideas.
