• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

SOH-CM-2025
after Bonny Bea, I thought it would be nice to have a Malcolm hood version from Fowlmere too, so here's "Punkie", the aircraft of Lt Robert Blizzard:

That looks remarkably like Australia to me. Certainly not Fowlmere. ;)

Fowlmere itself is an active current airfield with a single grass runway, parking an entire field away from the runway and what looks like a single T2 or Bellman WW2 period hangar (although it might not be, I've never been there, only seen photographs).

Indeed, Oz, this is Tamworth by FTX, the aircraft were originally from Fowlmere...

 Maybe I can save face by saying those two hangers look remarkably like British designs! Can anyone ID what hanger types they are??

They're too wide to be RAF standard WW2 transportable ones (T series, Bellmans or similar) so I'd suggest they were built to a similar design, but not to RAF standard drawings.

Not quite entirely OTT, I did look at doing Fowlmere, but decided against it because it was an active airfield... Does anyone have the UK2000 scenery covering it (I believe VFR Airfields 1?) and if so, is it included? I assume so.
