Sweet looking shots. so, sweetfx is a general enhancement, such as the reflectivity in the P51 and canopy of the F-14? Also, payware, correct?

I used it for a while and loved the effects but for some reason it killed my AA and AF settings I had set up in Nvidia inspector and resulted in jaggies and flickering, especially in VC "needles" and trees. I tried the sweetFX FXAA but they did not match the results of the 8xS AA and 16xAF I was using, probably because I run FSX at a relatively low resolution of 1200x1024 (Yes, I still have a 4:3 monitor). I went back to ENB for the moment, might experiment with it again later.

There's a manual version where you have to edit the text file yourself and there is a Configurator with a GUi that is much better. I recommend that. ItswhT I use and is far easier to edit on the fly.

But it would be nice if you would share your settings with us...

I'll post them when I'm home from work :salute: A guy's gotta make a living! LOL. To be honest, I don't have a lot of setting enabled, but I've tuned things like the Gamma, and Shadows to give them more definition. Bloom is tuned, and I've enabled contrast curves. I also have the AA in sweetfx turned off. I use nNIVIDIA Inspector for that. I also use the nvidiaINspector FPS limiter. Some pretty neat vintage FX can be acheived using the Technicolor settings, which I've done before, and it really makes things look like you're flying in an old WWII color film, or a Korean war area film....pretty Sweet! FX! lol.

Where it says "It does NOT work with 64bit game executables - use the 32bit version of your
game if it gives you a choice between 32 and 64bit.
"

Does this extend to those of us that have a 64 bit windows, in other words making it unusable in W7 64.

Edit canx above I read a bit further and it states "It should work on Windows 2000 and newer, both 32bit and 64bit. So far tested
working on WinXP , Vista and Win7.
"

My Settings in SweetFX

Here's the Difference from Default:

USE_SMAA_ANTIALIASING = 0
USE_LUMASHARPEN = 0
USE_BLOOM = 1
USE_LIFTGAMMAGAIN = 1
USE_VIBRANCE = 0
USE_CURVES = 1
BloomPower = 1.485 // USE_BLOOM
BloomWidth = 0.0152 // USE_BLOOM
RGB_Lift = float3(0.985, 0.985, 0.985)// USE_LIFTGAMMAGAIN
RGB_Gamma = float3(0.950, 0.950, 0.950)// USE_LIFTGAMMAGAIN
Curves_contrast = 0.65 // USE_CURVES

Here's the text version:

#define USE_SMAA_ANTIALIASING 0 // [0 or 1] SMAA Anti-aliasing : Smoothens jagged lines.
#define USE_LUMASHARPEN 0 // [0 or 1] LumaSharpen : Also sharpens the antialiased edges which makes them less smooth - I'm working on fixing that.
#define USE_BLOOM 1 // [0 or 1] Bloom : Makes bright lights bleed their light into their surroundings (relatively high performance cost)
#define USE_LIFTGAMMAGAIN 1 // [0 or 1] Lift Gamma Gain : Adjust brightness and color of shadows, midtones and highlights (avoids clipping)
#define USE_VIBRANCE 0 // [0 or 1] Vibrance : Intelligently saturates (or desaturates if you use negative values) the pixels depending on their original saturation.
#define USE_CURVES 1 // [0 or 1] Curves : Contrast adjustments using S-curves.
#define BloomPower 1.485 // [0.0000 to 8.0000] Strength of the bloom
#define BloomWidth 0.0152 // [0.0000 to 1.0000] Width of the bloom
#define RGB_Lift float3(0.985, 0.985, 0.985) // [0.000 to 2.000] Adjust shadows for Red, Green and Blue
#define RGB_Gamma float3(0.950, 0.950, 0.950) // [0.000 to 2.000] Adjust midtones for Red, Green and Blue
#define Curves_contrast 0.65 // [-1.0 to 1.0] The amount of contrast you want

FPS depends on your setup. I've had a max drop of -11 fps but that was with settings other than above (in areas where I had 30 fps without it on). But that's a max so far. On average I experience no more than about 3-4 fps decrease. In most conditions. However it all depends on what you have selected. The more features you elect to turn on, the more resources are going to be diverted to it. It's all about balance between what you find acceptable for flying and what you want to see. :)
