Movie "Inception"

I want to buy it as a stocking stuffer for my husband. Has anyone seen it?

If so, I would appreciate some quick feedback?

I watched it last week.

Now bear in mind that I'd a few :icon29::icon29: along with a few :guinness::guinness:and even a couple of can't find a whiskey icon

I found the movie to be a bit of a slow burner and a little difficult to follow...but the second half was much faster paced with a brilliant ending that'll leave you scratching your head.:)
The CGI and action scenes are spectacular.

Would I recommend it?....YES!

In a Nutshell...

It's the 2001: A Space Odyssey of the 21st century.
If that's your thing, don't hesitate.
It's also the kind of movie you cannot take in, all in one viewing....
 
Ohh...and one final thing.


Make sure to get the BluRay version.....this movie just has to be seen in full HD (preferably with a good sound setup too)

Nothing but BluRay in my house now. We bought a nice HD TV last year! Well worth every penny spent on it! Amazing picture!

And as far as new words for 2010, you only have 13 days left, so you better hurry up my friend!


Now on my end, I will instead be on the lookout for new words for 2011. I'm considering the word "pest"...
 
i saw it and loved it! deffenitly up there for movie of the year. The most annoying thing is that you cant really talk about it without spoiling it for others!

Its not a fast paced constant action flick though but it does has some really well done action scenes. Sure youtube will show all if you wanna check :)

It's an outstanding movie.

If you watch it, and like it, get "Memento" as well. That's another brain-bender favorite of mine. :D

Then again, if you liked "Memento", get "Inception" - by the same guy, Christopher Nolan.

And if you like either of them, make sure you get "The Prestige" - another out-freaking-standing movie - by Christopher Nolan. :D

I loved The Prestige and thought Inception was one of the best films of the year, if not the decade.

I couldn't abide Memento though. I guess I'm an exception to the rule? ;)
 
Memento was the first I saw - the way it was shot, the twists... Makes me smile every time I watch it/think about it. :)

Yeah, Memento was a nice little mind bender! My poor, long-suffering Missus watched the first half of it with me before shaking her head and leaving, muttering darkly with terms like ". . . senseless . . . stupid . . . . idiotic", et cetera"

I should've known; she doesn't "get" anything beyond standard fare (boy meets girl, they develop a relationship, a problem arises, problem solved, everybody smiles rapturously, fade to black with full orchestra).

She's a sweetheart, but I shouldn't have asked her to watch Memento with me. Sigh!
 
I've seen "The Prestige" and loved every minute of that movie.

Never heard of "Memento" before, so I'm putting on my "To See" list.

And today, I purchased "Inception" in BluRay, so I will finally get to see it over the holidays.

The film's events unfold in two separate, alternating narratives — one in color, and the other in black and white. The black and white sections are told in chronological order, showing Leonard conversing with an anonymous phone caller in a motel room. Leonard's investigation is depicted in color sequences that are in reverse chronological order. As each sequence begins, the audience is unaware of the preceding events, just like Leonard, thereby giving the viewer a sense of his confusion. By the film's end when the two narratives converge we understand the investigation and the events that lead up to Teddy's death.

That's about as spoiler-free as you can get for the movie. The reason I love it is because of the story and how it's told - it is literally the ONLY movie done this way and it's really an amazing thing to behold.
