Moving Scenery Objects ?

I downloaded FS2002 Neuschwanstein Castle and installed it in FS2004.
It is very nice and works fine in 2004.
The only problem is, it is in the wrong place.
It should be at N47*33'27.21 E10*44'59.29 at 3089 elev.

It is actually on the wrong side of the mountain in 2004.
I don't have 2002, so I cannot check to see if it is correct there.

Is there a way to move it to the right location?
Thanks,

There is an update to this file that is supposed to correct the castle's location.

Search for molb004b.zip at flightsim.com

It may save you from having to do it yourself.

FS2002 Scenery--Neuschwanstein Castle Update. Location update for Neuschwanstein Castle in beautiful southern Germany. A photorealistic reproduction of the castle that inspired the Walt Disney Fantasy Castle. This update simply corrects the location. Requires original Neuschwanstein Castle. By Bill Molony.

I'll have to try the update too. Neuschwanstein is a great place to visit in the real world and in our cyber skies.

There is a small package that adds some small airports to the scenery around the castle.

Look for: allgaeu_scenery_v3-0

It will add some AI traffic and update or add the following airfields:

Durach
Leutkirch
Fussen (just north of the castle)
Kaufbeuern
Geratshof
Agathazell

Here is a shot from Google Earth of the location of the castle and Fussen for those of you who want to get there VFR and do some exploring. I might add that when there, it is common to see hang gliders flying over the castle during the summer.

Update:

I checked that update mentioned above and it is for FS 2002 (FS8). It also supports a previous Neuschwanstein addon scenery also for FS8. I've used some FS8 scenery in the past so I think that I'll give this one a test and see where we end up.

Here is a shot from 10 years ago. The view is looking from the south to the north.

Jagd,
The b file works to correct the placement in FS9/2004. It is right where it is supposed to be.
Now, if we could get one for FSX, or, if we could get the old castles just across the Austrian border to the south!

I had some work to do up in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and drove through Austria to get there. (Cuts an hour off the drive through Munchen). The drive through Austria is beautiful. The two castles on the way are ruins condition, but well maintained for tourists. I have tried to follow A-7 to the tunnel and then though the Austrian Alps to Obergarten and Lermoos in both FS9/2004 and in FSX. The castles are near Ehrenberg, Austria, but I cannot find them in either sim. Castle Teck, southwest of Stuttgart, Germany is a great add-on, though.

Google earth Ehrenberg Castle and Fort Claudia. There are some pretty excellent photos on them in Google Earth.

DD,

I've seen those Austrian castles from the road, but I've never had the time to visit them. Hopefully next year I'll make another trip to the area and make time to do so. Another nice castle south of Stuttgart is the one below, but I can't remember the name of it to save my life right now.

The FS 8 Neuschwanstein castle shows up well in FS9, but it is partially hidden by the mesh that I'm using. Still, it's way better than it was before.

Another addon for the Fussen area that adds AI boat traffic to Forggensee north of the castle as well as some AI air traffic to the area is:

forggensee-v2_fs2004_part_1
forggensee-v2_fs2004_part_2

I just added Schoss Teck and I'll take a flight around it later today. Might just have to plan a visit to Stuttgart next year to see it in person. Just got 'a love that Space A option.
