MS FS Rises From The Dead !!!

I see some people saying oh FSX is better then FS9 but alot more of them moan saying tyhat FSX crashes and breaks most of the time.

Fs9 does not NEED to be resurrected because it hasn't died!

True indeed, as any of us can demonstrate. One could say the same for FSX. But all MS versions of FS are abandonware, no longer supported or developed by their publisher.

What I meant is that it's been resurrected as a contemporary program, available to the general public, and not just holdovers like us.

As for myself, I'll stick with FS9 (and GW3) over FSX anyway.

To be honest... I'm not going to hold my breath for this one. Even though FSX, P3D and this new release (FSX-St?) are the 'standard' these days, I'm just going to stick with FS9. I'm very satisfied with how it works, and how it looks as well.

I would much rather spend my time simming, as opposed to the ever present threat of OOM, crashes and the like.

Having both FS9 and FSX on my computer and plenty of hours with both, the stability nod definitely goes to FS9. I have found that FSX is more prone to crashes and OOM errors, especially when developers use 2048 x 2048 textures or worse, 4096 x 4096. FSX was not designed for textures beyond 1024, FSX is a 32-bit program and with massive texture sets, it will quickly consume its addressable memory and crash.

I would not hold my breath waiting for Dovetail Games to initiate any development for FSX, I expect they are simply going to be a retail outlet for the sim and likely license and sell add ons.
