MSFS download with updates?

I'm anticipating the delivery of my new build system next Wednesday Feb 10th. I'm going to buy the premium deluxe version of MSFS, and was wondering whether the "to-date" updates are included in the download, or whether they need to be individually downloaded and installed after the fact? If so, should I download the sim first, run it once to complete the set-up, and then do the updates?

You should get the current version with all updates. Be aware that some of the planes included with the Premium package are buggy. The airliners are the worst culprits. That said, if you're interested in the Airbus, there is a free community-based mod package that is supposed to make the A320 just about as close to real as possible. I went with the mid-level Deluxe package myself. I really would have liked to have the hand-crafted KSFO, but I really couldn't justify $30 extra for one airport.

If you're getting it from MS Store I'd recommend being sure your Store app is updated before you begin. (I didn't and it caused a few installation issues)

Depending on your d/l speed, plan on waiting a LONG time. :untroubled:

I bought the premium deluxe as well. In hindsight, now that I've settled on a few favorite planes I probably should have just bought the deluxe. I hardly fly the premium planes or visit the premium airports. KSFO and KDEN are nice though.

yes - welcome to MSFS2020 - you will be happy with it I think.
I bought Deluxe and am not sorry. I would recommend only to buy the premium deluxe if there is a specific aircraft you want that you would not get with the other packages.
Everything else is included essentially so there is no other reason to stretch, especially since every aircraft ASOBO/MSFS have modeled will eventually be done a bit better by 3rd parties.

The money I saved on the mid priced pack has been used to buy the Carenado Waco, and Dino's MB339 - plus some airfields

Tom, dcc, and Heywood - thank you very much! I'll make sure my system has all updates before the purchase. I'm going to stick with the premium deluxe as I don't mind the little extra cost (I've spent the difference on beer on a good night before :ernaehrung004:). Besides, I work for an airline based out of Denver.

You chose wisely, my friend :)
