MSFS Dune Add-On

Definitely keen to try this out and the "secret mission" included (which seems related to a spice harvester.) Love a good break from reality now an then. Plus, when I saw the ornithopter in the new Dune move when it came out, I was in love. Such a cool design.

This looks like a lot of fun. The first movie was great and I'm really excited for the sequel.

The funny thing is, the real pilots I know love stuff like this. (Friend who flies regularly was stoked by the Halo Pelican in MSFS and the Darkstar.)

It's mostly the pretend pilots who feel like they have to be taken seriously who get annoyed at missions and sci-fi add-ons. The more variety, the better!

Weren't these same type of insect like flying machines used in scifi movie 'Cowboys and Aliens' with Daniel Graig and Harrison Ford ?

They could make a 'Cobra' manouvre and hold and then lash out sort of lasso to grab people.. ( where did i see that before ?....)

Flybys are working, along with new water and wake effects,, and all current aircraft bugs are fixed. Then I woke up from my nap. It was only a spice dream. The Dune experience may be free, but it seems there are some long lasting fixes and enhancements which would have been a better use of resources. IMO the Bubbleship from Oblivion would have been a more compeling choice of fictional aircraft.

You have to remember it's the new movie tie-in that pays for the development of these add-ons, just like the Maverick one.
No marketing-budget available for old movies...just be grateful we aren't getting a Barbie tie-in DLC - think of all those potential new users, an untapped market!

I would love the bubble ship from Oblivion. Of course, anything designed by Daniel Simon would be welcome. Then again, he did do the design for the Darkstar in TGM. I can't wait to fly the Dune Ornithopter.

I am a big fan of the original Dune and warmed up to the new iteration. The Ornithopters were an interesting addition to the new version which grew on me as well. I will get this addon just for the fun of it.

Very true. Royalities would be prohibitive. Unless you are the captain of simulations, then you just do it anyway.

Same here. Frank Herbert is probably my all-time favorite author. I've read every sci-fi story he's ever written at least twice in my lifetime. The original 3 dune books 4x times, the next two in the Dune series 3x. I currently have 21 of the Dune saga novels on my shelf which I've been thru once and will probably read again someday. The story is that good. The original 3 novels only cover a very small early mid-portion of the story that spans over 15,000 years. Earth as we know it plays a part in the background of the story, but long before the first book of the whole adventure. Probably the greatest sci-fi story ever written IMO.

This ornithopter for MSFS is pretty much what I've always pictured them as looking like.

I read the first few books but quit after the second or third generation. I will let the way younger generation play with this one.

Looks interesting! Must be a precursor to more Sci-Fi releases! Something for everyone.

Too bad there's not another Star Wars coming out.

They were much smaller, and given the size of the alien species, likely AI controlled drones. They were jet/rocket powered, with ten individually articulated wings, plus an articulated body.
