Munda fell to the US Army on 5 August 1943 and the seabees soon got to work on the Japanese air strip preparing it for VMF 214 from where they would attack Bougainville, Rabaul and targets all around the Solomon islands.
Vila fell soon after. The air battles were intensive all over the islands as both sides tried to secure the area. Use these air bases for your historic missions and campaigns while flying the Corsair birdcage, F4U1 and D models.
