My apologies to the administrators and members who read this post in Frank's thread. My only reason for repeating the same entry is that the title 'Mirage' may deter many from following up on this aircraft. I very nearly did!

Mirage aircraft have never been my kind of 'brew'. That was till today. On seeing Frank's HU, I dawdled half-heartedly through the link he thoughtfully provided. My frame of mind: "probably just another 'boring' Mirage." Boy was I in for a rude (mood) awakenig.

Anyway, entered a nice, tidy little site teeming with Mirage (s?), "don't like the look of all this 'Froggy' stuff" my immediate reaction. Found the Mirage III directly.
DOWNLOAD!?!...to be or not to be? Oh, what the heck: i've got the Beech 18s repaints, the T-33 paint kit, the Kansan. Quick peep at all the usual download sites: the usual run-of-the-mill plethora of A320/30/40 and Uncle Tom Cobley an' all. No new F7F paints this early...
okay then, press download!

Expand the zip: nice installer. Install. (to a temp folder, not directly into Fs... just in case!!!).

The Mirage is airborne before you can say 'Tom Clayton', landing gear coming up, climbing like a Dingbat and pulling a turn as tight as your bank manager.
Playtime! Responsive controls, throttle's got bags of reserve, and this thing does all the 'party tricks' that a ...Mirage is supposed to! Push her too far: she'll warn you. Ignore her and you'll get slapped in the face!
Landing? Didn't want to: too much fun!...but in the event: uneventfull, it just lands like a...
Mirage!

I'll bet this bird even finds space in Willy's hangar among the properliners...
Because this is a proper Mirage!

It looks nice enough, but I tend to avoid the newer jets preferring those that date from the 40s. I really like Mike Cyul's Me 262, the AlphaSim P-80, AH F9F Panther, etc.
 
Tom aint alone in that. It's been known to happen to various Flight 19 members too.

Willy, what have they been telling you again Buddy? I thought we cleared up this 'Flight 19' business in the thread about Beech D18s repaints or somewhere like that.

Oh, I nearly forgot Willy: You mentioned something in the same thread about a 'Mariner' that resides in your hangar, if I'm not mistaken. Do you mean the 'alpha' version? I found it by chance yesterday, downloaded it, liked it. Keeping it! That's another download that 'Gollom' wont be getting his hands on!

I know you passed on the HU because you like sharing good aircraft with other simmers, thanks mate!

But you can tell those wiseguys that thought they'd find their peace and quiet that just because its MARTIN and its a Mariner aint changing anything!

Don't feel too bad - one of theguys we fly with over at TVA has a habit of coming in so high that when he lands, his ground speed is already down to about 100 knots - in a 747! He's stopped in about 250 feet of runway, but his struts are usually stuck out of the wings by the time he's clear of the active!:isadizzy:

If this great, big stack of kindling that you and Willy are gathering is so that the pair of you can light some gi-normous bonfire to keep off the snow over there, I don't buy it!

Where you been these past few days Tom? Willy told us you were guarding Milton's back from 'you know who'! :kilroy:

He's been under a lot of strain lately, poor guy! Keeps mumbling things about Flight 19. Tell him all about the 'Bermuda Triangle', Tom. He wont take a blind bit of notice from me.
It's all these treble shifts he had to do, while you and Milton were away!
