Can anyone else rival this kind of performance on such a 'mediocre' FSX system?

2.33Ghz processor
NVidia 8600GTS
Cheap generic motherboard
2GB Ram.

Friday Harbor at the following settings;

Global res - Maximum
High detail VC - Yes
Texture res/mesh res etc - Maximum
Water - Low x2
Autogen - Medium
Scenery complexity - Maximum
Special effects - Maximum
Weather - Medium

No bloom, aircraft shadows, scenery shadows etc.

Solid 40 fps all over the shop.

As I said, my computer is magic.
 
Depending on your AA and AF settings, that sounds about right. My old system was similar and got about the same performance depending where I flew. Add some AI, turn on real weather and you should be back down to a respectable 18-20 FPS, LOL. :jump:

As for New York, noone gets good performance there, I don't go near it, LOL.
 
With the settings in the first post, I get 26fps average, with very few stutters.

With full scenery complexity, full autogen, and medium weather coverage I average about 23fps, with a few more stutters but perfectly fine.

This is flying over the busiest part of new york, low level.
