My first video

Pat Pattle

SOH-CM-2025
Have been testing Geckos radio chatter and the ETO contrail effects. This is a short video with the view from the gunner of a Do17 over the channel.

I have an ancient version of fraps hence the low quality.

Was quite surprised at the ending, I think it's deliberate!

Good flick Clive. Like the choice of rear gunner.
Daniel, are we going to be able to do some chatter for bombers and NJ? If so do we need to collect some sound files? If so I will start.:running:

Certainly. I have a good base of general combat chatter clips, some of which will be useful, but if you want some night-ops specific stuff we'll need to make some recordings. Sound clips from video I find usually don't work too well because you get too many extra noises. So if there are some English/Commonwealth and some German speakers who would be interested in doing some voice acting I can do the necessary edits.

your a bob historian ....your work is masters plus ....however I wish to ask you if and what further direction you will be going onward with your work in the field .....tks :salute::salute:

Good vid, and the contrails look really nice Clive!
Unusual ending, must of been a rookie, and mis-judged his closing speed, kamikazi isn't the British way?:icon_lol:

Other than the famous incedent over London, though the pilot survived so I guess it wasn't quite the same.

the contrails look really nice

These were by Steve 01 Driver and based on those he did for the ETO.
If anyone wants to try them they are part of ETO 1.4. In the MB, open up a mission and select and insert the opposing ai contrail aircraft. Set them to intercept at an altitude a few thousand feet above the main action. They'll twist and turn and slug it out and occosionally one will dive down on fire. Most realistic!

can't that be inserted into your BoB install?

That's what I've done James, except that I've made versions for an RAF fighter and LW fighter and LW bomber.

Or you could just plop the ETO ones straight in as well.

You need to find the effects entries and copy and paste them into the effects.xml too.
