My Guns won't Stop!

Worthless

SOH-CM-2026
It doesn't happen a whole lot, but recently while flying two entirely different AC, in two unrelated missions, I noticed after an encounter with one or two bad guys that my guns were continuously firing. I wasn't losing ammo and there was no sound of the guns firing. I didn't even notice it in 2d view, but in VC mode and spot mode I was leaving a trail of smoke and empty shell casings and my guns were flashing. Anyone ever run into this?

I have. It happened after sustaining a hit in the wing by the guns. Got hit while I was firing and after that the guns would not stop. I have had it happen to an AI wingman a couple of times too.

I have seen that phenom a few times but only while flying on older/less capable computers. With my powerful XP desktop and on my Win7 laptop I have never seen it. Perhaps it's a computer performance related glitch? :running:

Seen that too ,, mid range Xp still shows up ,, Friendly aircraft as well as the Zero stocker too E-Ai ,, some mission files specify gun run on as a number of rounds to inact that function ,, but that don,t explain why it sometimes surfaces in QC ,, as to damage related ,, most annoying ,,

Thanks SW. I don't think it relates to equipment in this case. I'm running an HP Desktop with Win7. I've only had it a little over a year. It could just be a gun hit. I have scene it happen to AI also.

Me too

Actually I have it happen rather often. If a mission involves a lot of shooting, the guns never stops again if looked from the outside, and it actually lasts all the way back to your airfield (landing with firing guns?) - but this is something that ONLY affect the visual appearance from an outside view, you'll never notice anything from within the cockpit, and as already said, you do not loose any ammo. So my way of handling the problem is as easy as not taking any outside views after the first fight - if not noticed, it's not annoying, so why bother?

One sugestion to try ,, look at the Dp for Machine guns ,, and make the tag number after armour tag ,, a negative number as in the old roll damage fix,, along with the box tag number ,,
