"My New Guinea Diary"

I'd like to recommend a new book I'm reading: "My New Guinea Diary" by Staff Sergeant Ernest C. Ford, 364 pp. (ISBN 9780979258398).
It will really tell you what it was like to be a sergeant pilot flying combat in C-47s in New Guinea, 1942-1943. A superb read.
Mr. Ford passed away last year at age 88. A TRUE American hero.

I'll have to look for that. New Guinea and the Solomon Islands are favorite topics of mine.

I'm currently reading "Lonely Vigil: Coastwatchers of the Solomons" by Walter Lord.
