Last night the tool I use for viewing the model after editing repaints, died. Right out of the blue it just quit. The one I'm referring to is the one made by Paul Gasden (aka Decapod)

I've uninstalled, reinstalled the latest mdlview, slimdx and .net runtimes several times and nothing I try gets it working.

For what it's worth, here is the error. I'm guessing, but it appears to be related to visual basic?

Backup whatever files you've been working on and do a windows restore back a couple of days. If something you downloaded or something else broke, that will repair it without screwing up everything else.

Meshman, thanks for that info. Though I'm not liking the sounds of the way that program works.
===========

I'm currently testing this out http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14215
..It works, but I haven't figured out how to change to the texture I want to view. If I can sort that, it's a great viewer for viewing repaints. Far brighter than MdlView.

Mal, as a last resort I'll try what you suggest

Download from the link Dave has shared. This works very nicely. It's a little slow in loading the textures, but the level of control, and viewing options (mouse controlled) make it a superior viewer.

Thanks once again, DaveWG :ernae:

That's the feature I was reading about that I was searching for. Thanks!!
Outstanding, just tried it and with all the trouble I'm having with FSRepaint showing FSX liveries, this is way better and quicker. Thanks for the HU.:salute:

Hi,

I've been using this program by Arno for some time. Thanks for the HU on the latest version. That livery drop down menu is just what was needed to make this program excellent.

Thanks

OleBoy, if you use the development release of ModelConverterX, (here: http://agerrius.homedns.org/ModelConverterX/) it has a drop-down box for selecting liveries.

This tool has inspired me to get off my butt and finish this paint of the Aerosoft DHC-6 Twin Otter. Before this tool I was firing up FSX and loading the plane into the game every time I needed to test another tweak of the paint job, a monumentally tedious pain in the neck. And the stripes along the nose of this one required many many tests and tweaks... Thanks, Dave!

Thanks! The last thing I need to do is find where the blue paint has spilled onto the UHF antenna on top of the fuselage...
