Been converting some very old photographic slides from my fathers stuff. Here's 3 old shots from the highlands area. He used to fly in and out of these places (as a passenger) all the time with his work. This place called Tarpini (picture 2)used to scare him the most. Other pilots from the old days I met later used to say to the new guys "you have 500' of runway down the slope, then anoughter 5000' downward....there's heaps of runway".

The mountain valley shot is what's off the end of the runway.

demorier, that's likely c/n 401 VH-PND of Patair. On the p166 website, look at the Gallery and click on "401" for more pics. They'd probably like a copy of your photo to add

These are Papua New Guinea highlands stuff during the 1960's. Thanks for the info...I'll take anoughter look at the original slide later today and see if I can make out any markings.
 
Can't make out the other markings but it's almost certainly the 401 build you mentioned galahad. Didn't think such detail would be available....thanks for that.
 
there's an amazing amount of stuff that can be found. Having said that, I haven't done the research to find out if Patair had more than one P-166, but that's available as well.
