Napier Sabre sounds

If LuftwaffeOberst is still around please post back here. I just finished editing his sound pack for the Typhoon and Tempest. The sounds were quite good but had a little gap in the loop function. I patched that, removed the pitch changes as best I could, and even tuned down the high rpm sound and added some bassboost. I think it sounds pretty good now. If you'd like to try them please post here. I'd like to get permission from the maker before we go any further. The idle-taxi exhuast belch is very nice.

:woot:

Hey Nacht, that sounds good. Now I had to clip them a little and that may have knocked out a cylinder. In fact I think I hear 7 pulses at highrpm. I should probably duplicate another pulse there. I need to check the 4 speeds and make sure they're even. Good to hear the interest. I'll keep you posted.

Squiffy, good job mate,

I have made a twin set of engine files from the original Napier Sabre sounds for the Manchester for the upcoming ETO patch.

If you have kept the original file names for each of the sound files then I can just drop them in.

keep up the good work,

regards Rob.

They're here!

OK, I was a little overzealous at first but I counted the pulses religiously. Only the idle needed counting. You should hear a nice 8 beat loop now with some clicks pops belches as it runs. If anyone wants to filter out the noise go ahead. My ears are tired and I don't want to fuss with it too much. Check your emails in a minute. Thanks to LWOberst for his original recordings. Go crazy gang, I have an F9 Panther to work on now ;)

Cool Squiffy!

Fancy tweaking the ETO 8x browning sound whilst you have your modding ears on, pretty please?

Pat,

I worked on it once before and found the problem was with the envelope of the weapon sounds. I don't know how to make it decay properly after the button is released. Stock works fine and the old MkI and II add ons worked somehow. I have no idea how to edit that part. They are .wav format so if anyone knows how please chime in. All I accomplished was a clearer 8x sound while firing and a better stereo, multichannel true 8x signal. I would really love to have the recoil and bolt click back as the guns stop.

Any help? :help:
