NAS Whidbey Island in the 1960's

Hi all,I have been working on modifying the best version I have seen of NAS Whidbey (WINAS v1.5) with hangars and buldings created by Chuck79). In the 60's, the four original WWII wooden hangars (hangars 1, 2, 3, and 4) and hangars 5 (the double hangar at the north end of the ramp) and 6 (double hangar at the south end of the ramp) were the existing hangars. Hangars 5 and 6 are represented well in the WINAS v1.5, as is hangar 1 (now the Whidbey SAR hangar). I have taken hangar 1 and used that in the place of hangars 2, 3, and 4 for now, but some better modification needs to be done. So, the tough question that I haven't yet figured out. Hangar 1 is in the KNUW object library (under the name WINAS hangar 8) and I would like to modify it slightly, but I cannot open it in MCX (only the top item in the library opens when i open bgl file). I suspect I am going about it incorrectly, but hoping that someone might have some insight. Just trying to get a single library object in an library file opened to edit. So here are the edits i am trying to make:1) remove the "SAR Country" from the texture2) Add a "1", "2", "3" and "4" to individual objects representing the four hangars (1, 2, 3, & 4)3) Add windows to the sides.I tried to just change the texture files, but that did not work. Thanks,DekeAlso, is there a relatively simple way to add "seasons" to the ADE? Haven't found that one either. So many questions - apologize in advance. If I can get some attachments to load, i will do so in the next post. Thanks everyone.Deke

This should be interesting to see, once completed! I was stationed at NAS Whidbey Is. from 1969-71. VAH-10 and VAQ-129. How about the Seaplane Hangar that was in downtown Oak Harbor? I stood many "spook" watches in that creaky old building. 2nd floor was where the ECM officers had there training. That's why there had to be a watch on duty during the night time off hours.:ghost:

Such great news. And with recent MAIW P3D/FSX conversions of some lovely retro planes such as the P-2 (which I assume operated from Whidbey in the 50s and very early 60s) as well as native P-3s - there's lots of traffic options going from as far as that all the way up to (near) and present, where the MAIW EA-6B, P-8, and EF-18G models could take over.

Thanks so much in advance.
