NASCAR's "Flange Fit" Composite Body

Nice technology, but it is NASCAR. The National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing... there is absolutely nothing about these cars that makes them a stock car.

It's been 30 years now NASCAR cars are not 'stock cars' anymore...

NASCAR and INDYCAR will pretty much be "Spec" racing from 2018 onwards.....I only can hope that F1 can still stay out of this...
 
Decals on a body with a sophisticated race car chassis and engine do not make a stock car.

What's next? This series has really gone down hill since Bill Jr. passed... Had season tickets at Texas Motor Speedway since it opened ( four rows up behind start finish line) but gave them up after races started to run four hrs. plus. My brother is handicapped and couldn't sit for that long.
 
Brett Bodine, there is a old name from the past.

This new body doesn't seem that bad to me,it could help teams without huge budgets be a little more competitive, or not.
As was mentioned earlier it has been many decades since NASCAR was stock.
