HI all,
Those of you wanting to brush up on WW2 in the Pacific, checkout the latest issue of "NavalHistory" on your better newstands. It also does some backgroung on the current HBO miniseries,"The Pacific".

HeyChief

Thanks for the heads up Chief.

I don't have access to a news stand right now, but I picked up an interesting book while I was back in the States earlier this year. It is "The Pacific War" by William B. Hopkins. It's my next book to read.

Has any one seen the last episode of the Pacific war number V.

For the first time it really through me back 60 years.

WoW!

HEY CHIEF

Since I am a member of the Naval Insitute I get that mag delivered. Some good articles in there.

Highly suggest you pick up the books written by two of the main charactors in the series that were a huge insperation for the script writers...

Lecky (A Helmet for my Pillow) and Sledge (forget names, 2 books...bought all three recently at Amazon)

Right now reading Lecky's book first, its a very good read and fills in so much that the series can't.

Unlike Europe, Record Keeping in the Pacific theator was not a priority and not much survived the rapid island hopping or damage / destruction from both enemy and the elements....

JETNINJA

Those two books are avaailable at any Sams Club outlet. Was at one on Sunday and saw both of those books available. I had read them many, many years ago ( don't even want to remember how long ago!) Great books.
