Ah the poor thing probably just went "Lost Coms" and executed it's pre-programmed "I am here someone please come and find me". Basically a set of nav points that the birdie flies over at different altitudes and scans for any life signs from it's human controllers.
At least that is how the Predator A and B or Reaper UAVs are typically set up. Makes flying close to one interesting....if it loses connection during controlled flight they climb at Vx ..... and if you happen to be above them you loose
