SOH-CM-2023
Ya ,it's me again, please don't go running and screaming from the room ,while you figure out how to get me banned from the forums.
I just installed the updated verion of the Cherokee Six from FlightSim.Its shoulld have three color schemes but I can only get one to show up.
The plane is an update called Cherokee Six 300 Three Pack and theres two other color schems in the download but they don't show up, only the blue and white one shows up. I've had this happen before where there were other livery's but only one shows.
So how do I get the other liverys to show?I tried putting them in the texture folder of the plane but that didn't work.

I haven't installed it yet but a quick check of the aircraft.cfg disclosed the problem. All three entries are called [fltsim.0]. They need to be sequential

Racarton is right. Just renumber the aircraft.cfg entries to [fltsim.0], [fltsim.1], etc....

Must be a minor oversight on the author's part.

yep that did it

You guys are amazing, I renumbered the lines in the config file and the new livery's showed up, thankyou both.

This is a pretty basic plane but still deserving of Shockwaving :icon_lol:

Note: There is a switch for a taxi light, but I can't tell where the actual lamp is. so I've left it for for now.

No sweat, that was an easy one - you'll find a lot of this in your simming as time goes on, the developers who do this wonderful work have to plug in a number to fill the formatting out when they attach the config file to the entire package - some of them put in "xx," some put in "x+1" or, as in your case, "0," and so on. When something like this happens, and you are confused, go to the default aircraft and open their config file, then compare it against what you've downloaded. 99% of the time if you use the original aircraft config files as a template you'll see your error in the editing job with the add-on config file.

Also - if you are changing the config file, be sure to back up the original first and save it in a folder in the aircraft folder. I use "orig acft config" and store the config file in there. You can do the same thing for updating panel and sound config files, which you will sometimes need to do. If you like the additions you've made to either aircraft, panel or sound config, you can keep the orig config files in those folders or just delete the folder altogether.

Thankyou al for the info

I'am always learning somthing new even though I've been flight simming for over 20 years . I try and use the kiss method ,keep it simple ,well you know the rest, hence I don't have or want to get into the Shockwave thingy.
But learned a possible reason why some planes with multiple livery's only show one livery.
If I ever get around to actually flying instead of just collecting planes and scenery ,when I come upon a plane like that the first thing I'll check is the config file.

I'm sure everyone here would agree, keep 'em coming Hurricane. We don't just fly them, we love to talk about them too.

Thanks Aeromed

Thankyou for the kind comments,Aeromed ,you made my day.Even with all the mispellings I just noticed in my last post.
