Needed: Bushplane+Jet

I have been thinking about my flying patterns, figured out that I fly in two niches most often... #1.) Bushplane flying, #2.) fighter-Jet flying, and, in a close #3.) GA runabout flying.
What I need is an aircraft that can combine all of these characteristics into one airframe... and aircraft that is tough, maneuverable, a jet, and can carry cargo. Your CitationJets, Learjets, and Gulfstreams don't cut it - those are GA mini-tubes and can't handle rough strips, a danger of FOD, or hard handling. Stuff like the C-206 are too small, too slow. And, of course, any fighter is a fighter... no cargo capacity, too much power, not enough stability, and the wrong type of tough - again, FOD is a danger and they need to be able to take rough handling.
The aircraft that come closest are Lionhearts Kodiak and Lionhearts Epic... I want something sort of in-between them, without a prop...
does this exist? And where can I get it?

I had the same problem until I discovered the Stratojet Albatross.
Its "ficticious", but looks like an actual aircraft with excellent flight characteristics and a super-nice panel.
You can find it at Flightsim......2004 files...."other aircraft"......sj alb 2.zip

I'm not much on "ficticious" aircraft...but this one is pretty nice once in a while..............let me know what you think.

Here you go ... cruising speed of 250 kts, and two jets - one on each wingtip ... :engel016:

bushplane + jet is a bit of a oxymoron :)

Sounds like something the Russians might have?

just as a side note, if you want a fast plane that can get into tight spaces, try the Super King Air b200. It's a prop, but it's fast and very versatile.\

Jet? Cargo? Bush plane? I have to agree with Luckydog, 'Stratojet Abatross'

Very well done model, and Amphibious to boot!

Most big bushflying planes are turboprops, not pure jets. If a turboprop is ok for you I woul suggest the Dash 7.

The only stol cargo jets I can think of are the An-72 and the An-74. Samdim made an An-72 long time ago, it does not have a vc don't know if that is a problem.

I downloaded the Stratojet Albatross and was totally blown away by the quality of this package. The modeling is tight! Totally payware quality for sure. The 2D panel is very well done, and the VC is nicer than my living room. The instrument set up is first class, all glass, and uber modern...but easy to understand and use.

Took a short 15 minute flight around the Tacoma-Seattle area and was totally impressed with how smooth this bird handled. Trim.....forget it! Put this bird into level flight, and she pretty well stays were you want her to be.

Take off was on an asphalt runway...and the gear was flawless. Landing was on water and watching this jet powered amphib touch down and settle in was a real joy. The out-rigger pontoons are on the tips of the downward sloping wings (like on some of the Russian water-effect planes). As the hull settles into the water, those out-rigger pontoons make contact with the water as sweet as you please. And the water rudder....the slickest and sickest I have ever seen. Hit SHFT W and the rudder extends from the flatted end of the fuselage and dips into the water. Very very neat.

This is one very well designed and very well though out fictional bird. Looking at the plane from every angle, I could believe that this was real world aircraft. The angles are right, everything works just right. The selection of skins that come with the plane are nice!

If I were the guy who made this sim model, I would be approaching some of the real aircraft manufacturers and pitch this design to them. I could see this plane being a success if brought into reality.

Agreed on the Stratojet! thats a plane that I've had on the HD since FS2002. I've got contact points worked out for FSX I any one has problems with its sit on the water. Transload VA has a couple of nice mil. style repaints, and she fits in the dock well of Al Webers LHA's!The ony nit I coud pick is the A/C is the main gear should have retracted into an external fairing, a la Be-142, as a big hole in the wing root for gear leaves no room for things like spars and other critical bits.Minor. Good thing for us flight sim aircraft are made out of unobtainium! Also try Eugene Heyart's PZL Steam Otters, turbo Otter and otter NG. He also has a smashing space 1999 eagle pakage( its even an amphibi!)and Merlin, for a wicked warbird..All work is FS02, FS9 and FSX. Some pay ware quality freeware

OH yah,Beriev has the real world albatross in 2 sizes, same config. love to see a good one in FS.

Eugene Heyart's Albatross is a sweet plane.. can slow down for sightseeing and blast under the Eiffel Tower at 300 kts.. sure it's fictional, but so was a 500 seat jet transport with intercontinental range in 1955.
The other choices are good and since no one has really done a bush/jet in r/l yet... the Eclipse 500 that was released as freeware a couple of years ago is close.. I run it into 2000 ft strips and it's good for around 340 kts.

Transload VA also has a panel mod for the stratojet and a couple new paints. Thank You for the info on AJ's LHA docking.

What would really be neat would be an updated version of the AN-72. Dimitri Samborski (pre Samdin) did one for FS2002. Sorta works in FS9. Jets, stol, and gear for unimproved strips. Maybe one of you modders could do something with it. Gets my vote.
