• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

New article of the (missing) future of FS

Francois

FS Veteran
An article in The Register with comments by Flight1, Just Flight and some insight by an anonymous ex-ACES worker:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/02/03/microsoft_flight_simulator_partners/

We are nearing 1900 members on the Facebook Group '100.000 FS Fans' aka Save Your Flight Simulator.

When we don't reach the 100.000 maybe it isn't worth saving after all ???? :173go1:
I have also opened a 'poll' on our FSAddon.eu website, so people can show their support without having to register anything or anywhere! (I am having some 'WP problems' showing all text, but the poll wiorks ... *grin*).

Interesting read Francois!
:applause:
However, and there's always 'However', reading between the lines the main concern seems to be financial, but that is to be expected.
:kilroy:

Interesting Francois. I don't know anything about this that would allow me to make an even semi-knowledgeable statement. So, I won't say anything.

I am thinking, however, maybe I should buy a copy of X-Plane?

reading how m/s were going to increase the gaming aspect of it, i can see anyhow that alot of people here on this board and others would have complained loudly for as long as anyone would listen. i don't really feel bad about missing out on that part. :argue:

the lighter than air stuff? i suppose that means hot air ballons, i can do without those as well. sky diving? i doubt i would have used that either. the career board and what sounded like a similar thing to "cargo pilot" interests me though. i have no interest in participating in an online game every single time i fly, if that is what they had in mind. the voice recognition thing might have been interesting if they improved atc. i'd be curious to know what planes would have made the new hangar though.
