NEW! Freeware FSX H/S Nimrod By SIMSHED

SOH Staff
Just spotted at Avsim ...

The Hawker Siddeley Nimrod is a military aircraft, which was developed and built in the United Kingdom. In essence it is an extensive modification of the de Havilland Comet - the world's first jet airliner. It was originally designed by de Havilland's successor, Hawker Siddeley - now part of BAE Systems. Its major role was anti-submarine warfare, with also secondary roles in maritime surveillance and anti-surface warfare. There is also a Nimrod variant which is used by the RAF in an electronic intelligence gathering role. The aircraft has enjoyed a lengthy and successful career in the Royal Air Force and gone through numerous upgrades and modifications. The Nimrod series was due to be replaced by the now cancelled Nimrod MRA4.

ok im confused, is this a re release or a different one from the other month or another developer

???????

The UKMIL one is quite old.
The Simshed one was released something like a month ago. Looks like a reupload to me :)

It is the SAME aircraft that was linked through here last month. I think there may have been a couple of documentation changes, BUT IT IS THE SAME ONE, just getting it to bigger audience!

I am very impressed with this aircraft! Job well done:applause:

Question: Is there a manual? If so I sure can not find it..

Trying to figure out the Auto Pilot..

Rick

Ah, the manual was the documentation that was delayed (as I mentioned above, some missing docs in the simshed release)! I rather hoped it was in these new uploads (but at that price), it is probably better to have the model itself as it was all finished!

The manual for the AP was delayed as we were waiting for the info from someone involved with the real Nimrod. With the end of the fleet and cancellation of the MR4, I guess he has rather more important priorities at the moment.

It will be released ASAP, I hope it does not reduce your enjoyment too much!

Thank you for the update....My hat off to the team that brought this bird to life!:applause:
Remarkable!!

Thank you again!!

Rick

Thanks Dave, missed that one!

The next Simshed project is now at a very early stage and it really excites me!

Look out for a large military aircraft not seen in MSFS since FS2002 sometime in the future.

OK now thats got me thinking.... can i contain the excitement.... probably not.... :icon_lol:

shame about the MR4 that thing was beautiful when i saw it at RIAT 09...

Nice plane! Can someone point me a nice smoke effect for this old bird? Thanks!

There is a smoke effect modelled in the Nimrod but it doesn't work for everyone. If you search for the original Nimrod thread you'll find my post with co-ordinates for smoke effects. I used commecial smoke fx but there are freeware ones that could be substituted.
