But I love Allen's Zerros. I fly them all the time. Your new skins look great. Great weathered paint job. Looks like they've seen plenty of action.
 
Allen's original model 22 & 32 were both based on the stock A6M2 model. But the A6M3 introduced a more streamlined cowling like that used on the A6M5.

I asked him to reproduce Ivan Hsu/ Tango's earlier work where they combined the A6M2 model with a A6M5 cowl, but retain the de-mirroring of the B24 guy's Overhaul model. - So he did just that!:applause:

Allen tells me he has now updated both of his uploads.

Now I need to upload a revised Model 32 skinpack, & the new Model 22 skinpack. :running:
 
Just adding the A6M5 cowl to the A6M2 wouldn't work. The A6M3 had the engine moved back towards the cockpit 8 inchs do to the Sakae 21 engine that was heavier and longer than the Sakae 12 used in the A6M2. The A6M5 also had this done.

I took the A6M5 and cut the wings plus under side exhaust stack out. Now take the A6M2 and cut evey but the wings. Attach the left parts and you have a A6M3.
 
Now I get it. No A6M5 style exhaust stacks (acutally provided some thrust), but the A6M5 style coweling.

A6M5 with ejector stacks for comparison to the A6M2 and A6M3.

Just a reminder, these are for Allens new A6M3 models, you'll need to download his updated model 22 & 32 zero's. The new set is for the Model 22, & I've updated the Model 32 (Hamp) set.

Glad you made the distinction. I musta missed your "32 update". Got it now though.
And just so I'm not missing something else, when you refer to Allen's new A6M3, you are speaking of the Zeros he uploaded in April,....correct? I mean, there hasn't been something new since then has there?

I think I'm losing it!

The April uploads were based on the A6M2 model, this is not accurate. I started exchanging PMs with Allen at the end of August, exploring the possibility of a more accurate model. He updated his model 22 & model 32 zips here last week. Although it's not at all clear from the upload text, I've just checked, & these both have the new A6M3 model as part of the zip.

Well, that explains a lot, because these new skins weren't working out for me. Thanks. I'll go and get Allen's new updates.

Fate accepted.....but I don't have to like it. Good grief.
