I've been emailing back and forth with Beat Schaffner (Isra) over the past couple of weeks about a side project he decided to undertake. He has taken his Mirage IIIS/RS and made some alterations to come up with a new option, a Mirage IIICJ.
This included removing all of the modern IIIS enhancements, moving the intake location as well as the changing the shape of the business end of the Atar engine from a 9C to the older 9B. Since this is specifically an Israel Air Force bird he has also armed it with a pair of Rafael missiles. Rather than rebuild his already complete IIIS/RS cockpits he has opted to change the color to a nice lived-in dark gray. No other changes, just the coloring, and it looks pretty good. After testing them both he has settled on the more simplified IIIRS cockpit for his IIICJ.
He has added a page with a couple images on his website: http://www.opus2.ch/page_IDF.htm
Also, as soon as the manuals are complete he will release his updated IIIS and new IIIRS models.
