Anyone tried these out yet?

GeForce Driver Release 181 WHQL <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr> <td width="140">Version:</td> <td>181.22</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Release Date:</td> <td>January 22, 2009</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Operating System:</td> <td>Windows XP, Windows XP Media Center Edition</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Language:</td> <td>U.S. English</td> </tr> <tr> <td>File Size:</td> <td> 72.3 MB</td></tr></tbody></table>

I was just on their website EVGA, and only saw 178.13 drivers.....where are the 181.22 ?

Feedback, please.

So far the 18x series has been a PITA for me. Fast, but unstable as frak.

I have 180.48 now and haven't had any trouble at all. I did try the 180.84 betas awhile back and that screwed me over pretty good. Will likely try these tonight and report back.

NCGent: Found them here

EDIT: I noticed in the nvidia driver install tips:

Do not run virus protection software in the background while installing the drivers. This prevents the driver from configuring itself properly.

Maybe that was why those last beta drivers caused me so many troubles.

181.22 and 181.20 drivers

Blue screened my PC, converting back to 180.48

Video card 9600 GSO

Same here. I can't use anything in the 18X series without randomly crashing my computer completely.

Odd, I'm using 181.20 on Vista and a 9800GT and it's very quick and rock solid. Luck of the draw I guess. I don't overclock, but I do use nHancer. I tend to go with every 2nd or 3rd driver update so I'l skip the 181.22s.

I 'm using 181.20 with Vista 64, works a treat 35fps Locked and smooth too. Might try the new 181.22 , but I don't think it will improve FSX any.

I have an 8800 GTX OC2 and I downloaded 185.20(the version is correct) on 1/4/2009 from Guru 3D. I have experienced no problems.

I am running Vista 64bit.

Been flying with the 181.22 drivers all day. So far they seem to be really a nice set. No problems at all so far.

Using Xp Sp3 & 8800 GTSOC

Same here Weevil, tried the 180.24 (I think), blue-screened when opening FSX. Reverted back to 178.13 and no problem. Decided to try 181.20, liked them a lot and still have them. Think I'll do a hold on 180.22 also.

Seems to work ok
FSX slightly improved :friday:

Sys specs:

Dual Core 3Ghz
8 GB DDR2 667Mhz (+4 GB via SD card)
2 x 8800GT 1GB SLI
Triplehead2Go Digital
Vista Ultimate 64
FSX Acceleration

I'd do it - but I hate the idea of having to risk my 'good enough' setup for the possibilty of having to re-install FSX, definitely having to re-install nHancer and reset it all, maybe redo my FSX.cfg file, and lord know what else...to realise maybe a 1-5% increase in FPS if I'm lucky...and a step backwards if I'm not.

i am happy with my current ones stable and no weird stuff going on. My opinion about this is do not fix whats not broken.

The only texture problem i have in fsx is flickering taxiway textures when in dx-10 mode.

kind regards,

Meso

On a whim, I decided to finally try these new drivers last night and am happy to report a boost in both fps and general smoothness with no downside to speak of. Over San Francisco (with everything but traffic cranked up) for instance I was typically getting a bouncy frame rate in the mid twenties. With these drivers it's now 30+ and as said, nice and smooth.

Very happy with this driver release.

I just did a rebuild and started with this driver this time around, video seems fine I am getting some funky stuff happening with my Saitek stick and keypad, but I can't be sure it is not the Saitek drivers. I can't compare performance to the older Nvida driver I was using because this is a fresh rebuild but so far so good for me.

wird ..but i got this nvidia drivers in december 185.20 vista64-[Guru3D.com] Is 181.22 newer ?
