Spent 4 hours yesterday installing FSX/Acceleration on my new gaming rig. I did a basic config on the sliders and FSX config file and then installed FTX Global. Performed a couple of
test flights for slider settings and then installed some heavy duty payware a/c into the shiny new FSX hangar. I was very liberal with the sliders on the initial flight and then found a good balance between
getting FTX Global to look good as well as the a/c (I spend alot of time outside the cockpit on long flights). There's a good amount of traffic moving on the air and the ground as well.
FSX/Accell and FTX Global installs went off with nary a hitch as advertised. My initial impression of FTX Global is good. On the couple of flights I took of any duration, I did a slow speed transit flight in
Carenado's Stationair and then a high altitude cruise with IRIS' F-14 Tomcat. On each flight the textures looked good at high altitude and at low sight-seeing altitude. Two-thumbs up.
Now that the tuning is done I'm looking up serial numbers for a/c and such and reinstalling. I'll get some of that empty hangar space filled up by mid-week.
