From Sgt.frank white
Good day and compliments, I know this letter will definitely come to you as a huge surprise, but I implore you to take the time to go through it carefully as the decision you make will go off a long way to determine my future and continued existence.
Please allow me to introduce myself. I am Sgt.frank white, a US Marine Sgt. serving in the 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment that Patrols the Anbar province, Iraq. I am desperately in need of assistance and I have summoned up courage to contact you. I am presently in Iraq and I found your contact particulars in an address journal.
I am seeking your assistance to evacuate the sum of $18 million (eighten Million U.S Dollars) to the States or any safe country,as far as I can be assured that it will be safe in your care until I complete my service here.
This is no stolen money and there are no dangers involved.
SOURCE OF MONEY:
Some money in various currencies was discovered and concealed in barrels with piles of weapons and ammunition at a location near one of Saddam Hussein's old Presidential Palaces during a rescue operation and it was agreed by all party present that the money be shared amongst us.
Click this link (I removed it ..... ickie)

might appear as an illegal thing to do but I tell you what?
No compensation can make up for the risks we have taken with our lives in this hellhole. The above figure was given to me as my share and to conceal this kind of money became a problem for me, so with the help of a British contact working with the UN here (his office enjoys some immunity)
I was able to get the package out to a safe location entirely out of trouble spot. He does not know the real contents of the package as he believes that it belongs to an American who died in an air raid, who before giving up trusted me to hand over the package to his close relative. I have now found a secured way of getting the package out of Iraq for you to pick up. I do not know for how long I will remain here, as I have been lucky to survive 2 suicide bomb attacks by Pure Divine intervention.
This and other reasons put into consideration have prompted me to reach out for help. If it might be of interest to you then Endeavor to contact me and we would work out the necessary formalities but I pray that you are discreet about this mutually benefiting relationship.PLS get back to me on my email..frankwhite10003@aol.com

Respectfully,Sgt.Frank White

Ickie,

IMHO, this is the ultimate disgrace. My this person be shamed for all eternity, and burn a fiery death in the deepest depths of hell.

I saw this scheme several years ago. Looks like some miscreant has dug it up and is trying it again.

I'd love to find this guy and the rest of the "stolen valor" gang and let him/them run the gauntlet of the 1st SF Group, the 2/75 Ranger Bat and the four Styker Brigades on Fort Lewis. It would be fun to see him as he ran for the base gate and salvation.

This fellow must be aquainted with the Liberian Prince who's been trying to get millions of dollars into North American for over a decade. What hardship.....

I got one of those one time from some "Afican Princess" that wanted to be part of my family and bing a rather sizeable dowry with her. I responded that I would love to expose my other three wives to some outside culture, since they don't get out very often, but that I was picky about appearance. I got no response from my request for photos!

I have received literally hundreds of these emails from people claiming to be US Military personnel in a war zone making claims similar to this one. There are many other types of these scams going out and about like inheritances, oil/resource investment offers, etc. Incredibly and sadly, many unassuming people fall for them despite years of warnings being send out by ISP's, Law Enforcement and the FCC. Lately I've been getting scam emails claiming to be from the FBI and other Govt Agencies informing me I am entitled to damages and all kinds of other monetary settlements. Every one of those emails I have reported to the FBI Internet Crime Center has had two different emails attached, one from the sender and the other a reply address. The emails are often well crafted with official seals and letterhead but often with grammatical errors and a "cut to the chase, this is what we need-funds to release your settlement" line at the end of the email. 80% or more of these scams originate from West Africa, mostly in Nigeria. One of my friends who works/travels about Embassy locations around the world informed me that Nigeria alone has a massive scammer economy running despite it being against the law there with frequent police raids. The police there ignore many more such operations being on the take from them.

Rule of thumb, most if not all solicitation emails are net scams unless they are from a verifiable and recognized source.

I'm so accustomed to simply deleting spam and scam messages that yesterday I almost "File-Thirteened" an actual, legitimate notice regarding a "Proposed Settlement" with regards to a class action suit against "Classmates.com..."

I had already deleted the email but instantly "undid" the delete and read it more carefully. Gosh, I almost missed my chance to maybe get as much as $10 should the judge rule favorably on the settlement! :p:
