NEW scenery_cfs_library

View attachment 91170 As a lot of us know there are quite a lot of errors in the scenery_cfs_library of cfs2, the screenshot is of airfield1 rebuilt in gmax with no damage at the moment and looking at it the model needs to be re scaled as did the original model, I am thinking of rebuilding the library so it is more usable in cfs2, There are no ground flicker with the rebuilt model but will need to sit on a flat surface.
Also thinking of redoing the textures to 1024 x 1024.

Robert, any improvement is a step in the right direction. Getting rid of the annoying flickers and terrain bleed-through is definitely a plus.
 
Someone needs to take a good look at the bomb craters in CFS2. They look like a box from high alt.

The because MS didn't texture the far LODs of the bomb craters.

The answer to your question is both,
I am keeping the bmp's as is.
I will be correcting the models and lods where they are bad and correcting the texture names.
I will also be making replacement models with higher levels of detail with more lods and the texture sheets will be 1024 x 1024 with lots of detail, this will be a payware package and the models used for cfs2 and other sims.

Here is screenshot of the Am75mm model that is in the scenery_cfs_library, I removed the cannon from the back because the vehicle is fully canvased and it look out of place to me (IMO) you can change the type of weapons it uses by changing the dp file,
The vehicle has 5 levels of lods, will also upgrade the textures for this model as the computing power of our newer computers can take it.
