New Shaders and Bare Metal?

Threedp

SOH-CM-2024
Forgive my ignorance of exactly how skinning works in CFS3, but the bare metal B-17 and B-29 skins I did are not behaving properly with the latest shaders. They used to work with previous versions of the new shaders and I know I updated them once to be better compatible with the new shaders, but they are again not working right. They are behaving differently though:

- The B-17s simply don't look right at all. They look white. I notice that in a fresh install of ETO, the B-17 Bit o' Lace has the same issue.
- The B-29 fuselages and engines are fine but the tail and wings are not.

I've tried to figure it out myself but with no success. If someone with some expertise could take a look at them (the red tailed B-17 and the all metal B-29 Hellon Wings would be the best examples to look at) and let me know what I need to change, I'll get right on it. They're all on this page: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?catid=73&sort=d&page=2&pp=20

Other bare metal planes in the ETO 1.5 install work fine, so I can only assume the issue is in my skins. Thanks in advance.

I'm still experimenting but have had no success. Here are some screenies . . .

The B-29 is easy, just lighten up the _r and _s textures for the wings and tail to match what you did on the fuselage and you have it. It will look even better if you include the panel lines from the main texture.

The B-17 required a quick hex edit, I've attached it here.

Thanks very much! Is the B-17 change something I can easily execute? From my testing, the model file doesn't seem to be compatible with Bit o' Lace, the bare metal B-17 now bundled into ETO 1.5 (I get a black aircraft). Works with an addon B-17 though. I actually had to modify the r & s files to de-chrome it a bit!

B-29 is still an issue. As a test, I changed all the _r and _s files to pure white and as is evident in the attached, the fuselage is behaving differently to the other parts of the plane. It looks like the fuselage is reflecting but the other parts aren't. I've looked at the _r and _s files and they seem identical.:dizzy:
